CM-500 Shotgun Microphone for DSLR Camera Video Photography

I got this to mounton dslr and its very good indeed. Works as expected and decent sound quality. Can be also plugged into laptop.

Very good mic

I tend to use leveller mics for most of my work but this has performed admirably at times when it is required.

For any new or budget conscious filmmakers/youtubers this is a great alternative to the bigger brand mics on the market, that cost more than double this.It comes extremely well packaged, in fact the packaging almost feels premium. The mic has a changeable CR battery (those little watch type ones!), the manufacturer's spec say this can last <60 hours, so we'll hope and see if that is the case. But considering how easy it is to replace & how cheap these batteries are I've not got any issue with changing them when needed.All the machining & general build quality feels really nice, certainly of a much higher quality than the budget price point would suggest. If you're careful with this microphone I'm sure it'll stand the test of time. It comes with a foam wind shield, which is essential to use as being a condensor mic it's extremely susceptible to wind noise.There's a +10db switch in addition to the power on/off, this is pretty self explanatory, but when in action it also adds a 200hz Filter. Meaning unwanted plosives and bass 'noise' is filtered, perfect for voice at extra distance. The sound quality in general is great for an onbody mic. It's certainly comparable to the Rode alternatives in terms of useable quality & considering the likely applications of this mic (DSLR filmmakers) you won't be disappointed with how it sounds.All in all, it's pretty much the perfect low cost on-body microphone.

This can mount on the hotshoe but also has a screw hole at the bottom for mounting on tripod, monopod, or selfie stick if you so please. You'll need a 3.5mm extension wire if you want to mount on those things. It comes with a CR2032 Battery, which is pretty easy to find for cheap when it runs out. Compared to the build-in microphone for my Canon T6i, the voice is definitely more pleasant and less tinny. I'm very happy with it so far.

Surprisingly good. Sound quality and directionality is excellent. Requiring a coin cell battery is the only downside.

I'm not a professional photographer, so I don't need a microphone that has perfect sound quality. This microphone is great for me because it has a very attractive price, and the quality you get for it is satisfactory. I've tried using in outdoor areas and I was able to record sounds for videos just well in environments like crowds, streets, and in parks as well.

Just used this for a friends wedding. The sound quality is pretty good after playing the videos. On the tv. The product came on time and it came in a nice box. The built quality is decent.

the sound on the mic is decent. It records the sound quite nicely from the camera. It sits nicely on the top of the camera and you can lock it in nice and tight. The challenge that I had was finding a camera that worked with it because not all models of DSLR has a plug in that will accept an external mic plug in to use it. So it's always good to check first if your camera has one before making a purchase. It comes with two different modes that helps with recording range, definitely useful for those who looks to record in different environments.
