I think telephoto lense is too heavy for this tripod

I would consider this as a light weight, travel tripod, so if you did put say a 70-200mm lens on your camera be sure your on solid ground, use a remote shutter release and hang your camera bag from the hook on the center column. I my humble opinion this not for heavy, full frame, dslr cameras, unless the tripod is used with the legs short for better stability. And not in a high wind.

I have used it with a canon 70-200 and sigma 150-600. Both have lens rings. The canon 70-200 was handled well with light to no wind. The Sigma had issues. The ball head was not quite strong enough to eliminate drift.
