If you use an adapter like this what is the cons? Does it slow your speeds down or reduce quality?

Unlike a tube it won't effect your focus distance nor effect your quality like a doubler. The lens will have more of an effect than anything else. On my Sony a7, I must be sure to use a full frame lens since the sensor is 35mm size

From a quality perspective this adapter is well made,and functions well,thus enabling other lenses to work with your camera.Focusing and exposure must be performed manually,focus peaking can be enabled which I find useful.Image quality,should be good,however this depends on the glass you use.Excellent product.

I've had no problems with speed or clarity. Just remember, this is a manual adapter, so focus and zoom is not automatic.
