The head is removable and replaceable, but not recommended, because the factory fixed clamp base screws are played screw glue, help to better fix the clamp base, if you replace the other head, do not rule out the use of the process will have loose phenomenon, you need to use the hexagonal wrench to fix from time to time!

Your another style head could be used on our tripod as long as it has a 3/8" standard screw interface 

Never been on a safari but these binoc’s have been great under all kinds of conditions.
