Excellent performance for a wallet-friendly item.
I haven't actually attached this Neutral Density filter to my smartphone yet because I haven't received the adapter that I ordered to attach it to my anamorphic lens, but I've dealt with so many accessories that I don't need to.Simply put, this accessory will do what it says. The rotating ring has very smooth action and has the feel of a very solid build. Being an adjustable neutral density filter, this accessory allows you to fine-tune the amount of light that reaches your camera's sensor so you can shoot with a fully-open aperture without fear of blowing out your image or video. This is a 52mm nd filter, so if you're shooting with a DSLR with a 52mm attachment threads, this will work for you if you're not going the smartphone route like me. If you are using a smartphone you'll an adapter.All-in-all, great piece of tech for the money.

Good basic lens protection, and then some
Buying a decent quality filter to protect a good lens can be an exercise in how much one feels like reading often-conflicting reviews and opinions. It's sometimes as bad as reading reviews with comments as to why one DSLR may be better than another, or why one zoom lens may produce 0.2% more barrel distortion than another. But this

Marumi 52mm DHG MC Lens Protect Slim Filter

seems to be one of the less pretentious filters in a competitive market.Years ago it was the UV vs. skylight filter argument, and then multicoated filters arrived on the market, and that seemed to change everything. Photographers bought these arguments in many cases, and were often caught up in the maelstrom of getting rid of perfectly good filters for the sake of having the latest and greatest piece of glass on the front of their lens. But along the way something was forgotten, an even older point that was forgotten over the years: drop your lens and the chances are slim that the front glass element will get damaged. It's the filter threads on the front of the lens that usually gets the impact, and as any camera repairman can tell you, this can get costly to the point of being prohibitive in some cases. One good way to protect against this is to use your lens shade; the other is to use a UV, skylight or protective filter. Just because a lens may be reasonably priced is no reason to put a cheap and possibly inferior filter on it. I fortunately have a small supply of the older Nikon 52mm L37C UV haze filters that have been in use for years, but the

Nikon 52mm Screw-on NC Filter

is its multi-coated replacement, and does not affect color balance. It's a protective filter that also reduces glare for outdoor shooting. If you explore here, you'll find others, such as some from Hoya, Sigma and others. It's a subjective choice, but be sure to get a good one. The

Marumi 52mm DHG MC Lens Protect Slim Filter

was made in Japan, and came packaged in a rectangular clamshell package with nothing touching the filter surface. Some filters come in soft plastic pouches where the plastic rubs against the surface, which isn't good. It's well made, with no play between the glass and the metal ring. The six-layer low reflective multicoating on this DHG (Digital High Grade) filter keeps reflections from bouncing between the back side of the filter and the front element of the lens. The black non-reflective satin metal frame helps to eliminate reflections, and Marumi notes that a black ink process has been used on the glass edge to eliminate flare. The frame has some slight ribbing on the edge of the metal frame to make it easier for removal when necessary. This is considered to be a low-profile filter, and exhibited no edge vignetting even when stacked with a polarizer.Giving credit where credit is due, I had read various blurbs about the Marumi Super DHG Filters, but a friend who is a sports photographer had personally recommended them highly, noting that they were excellent for guarding against oily smudges and water spots, something that he encounters regularly. Using my

Nikon MicroKlear Cleaning Cloth

, I found the same, and my review of that cleaning cloth explains a bit more about cleaning techniques used from experience.Bottom line: this is an excellent filter for basic lens protection, and it's more reasonably priced than might be expected. This was purchased to protect a new Nikkor lens that I own, and even though I already have an array of Nikon and Hoya 52mm filters, this seemed to closely resemble the Nikon NC Filter in terms of being color neutral. You may have to search here for your size, but this is a highly recommended 5-star product, and I'm glad that I listened to the advice of my friend.6/4/2012

Surprisingly good for the price.
I got these to use with my Helios 44M-4 vintage lens, which has a 52mm filter thread. They have a slightly blue color tint which is so barely noticeable that I had to use do comparisons with an RGB parade in Adobe Premiere to see it (I got these for video), although it seems to be worse with the darker filters. It's hard to complain about at this price, and it's the sort of thing that can easily be mitigated with manual white balance. I also haven't noticed any artifacts in the bokeh, like the squiggly lines you sometimes get with cheap plastic filters. Overall, I would say this is a good low-budget solution.

It was the wrong size
I ordered the filter to go with the camera, but it was the wrong size--the camera needed a 52mm filter. Otherwise the filter was fine.

A Quality ND at a good Price Point
I purchased two of these Urth ND filters, one in the 52mm thread and the other in a 58mm thread. I use both on my Sony ZV-1 with the standard lens and the larger of the two when using the Ulanzi WL-1 wide-angle lens. Good marking on the filter to show where you are at in the ND range, hard stops and both ends, and minimal (if any) color cast. I have seen none of the dreaded "X" patterns of cross-polarization anywhere throughout the ND range. This is a "shut up and take my money" product. Purchase with confidence.

Actually the 52mm does not fit the sigma 30mm lens
I ordered the 52mm filter because the 30mm f1.4 sigma lens for sony e-mount cameras has a 52mm thread but after lens arrived, I couldn't fit it on.But after-service support was pretty helpful in telling me this

WELL WORTH THE MONEY.
I TRYED THIS BINOS UP CLOSE AS WELL AS FAR OFF AND THE VIEW IS VERY CLEAR EITHER WAY. A TRIPOD WOULD BE HELPFULL, BUT ALSO WORKS WELL HAND HELD.ALL IN ALL, I LOVE THIS BINOS.

What is the max size SD card this camera can use?
A
Up to 128G. A 64G memory card is included in the package.
Q
How to focus?
A
Dear Customer, Thank you for your question. Please check the following steps to setting the focus: (Do not look at too close objects) Step 1. Cover the right objective lens with your hand or close your right eye, rotate the central independent focusing wheel until the image in the left eyepiece is sharp and clear. Step 2. Now cover the left objective lens or close your left eye, rotate the right eyepiece focusing wheel to adjust the diopter of the right eye until the captured image is sharp.
Q
How do I adjust the eyepiece to get a clear image?
A
Step 1: Being careful not to touch the lens, cover the right objective lens (or close your right eye) and turn the central focusing dial until the image seen by the left eye is clear. Step 2: Cover the left lens (or close the left eye) and this time instead of turning the central focusing wheel, turn the diopter adjustment ring (located near the right eyepiece and displayed on the small image in the upper right) until the image is clear. Step 3: Finally look through the binoculars with both eyes until the image is clear and sharp.
