I have one on my current camera and saw the need to buy one for a back-up/loaner body when I saw that my eight year-old niece didn't know where it's lens cap was. From now on out, the cap can dangle freely whenever it's off the lens. If that causes a problem, it can be loosened up and removed easily enough; but it will require a deliberate effort and that "should" help anchor the action in her memory.
