This is my favorite Lens
I like landscape and interior photography and this is definitely my favorite lens of those I own; with the 10D's 1.6 crop factor this lens has a nice equivalent range of 27.2mm - 64mm.I use it all the time and the images are nice and sharp--considerably better than the images I got from the Sigma 14mm.If you're into portraits 64mm (with a 1.6 crop factor) is maybe a bit too short but for landscapes and interiors I would highly recommend this lens. I love it.

1 shot wonder... or duel purpose for crop sensor
Serves its purpose as a landscape lens and goes well with my other lensesI have used this as a primary on my crop sensor 60D although after using a 24-70 f/2.8 this lens simply does not compare to the sharpness and dof that I desire although it does make from some beautifully smooth landscape lens and general purpose if there is enough light...

The absolute best bang for your buck
Where to start... I had an older version of this lens about 5 years ago. I enjoyed it, but it broke a few months after purchasing it (possibly my fault-- it suffered a short drop, although any of my other lenses would have been totally fine). I decided to get something that I thought would be a little more durable, so I "upgraded" to the 50mm 1.4. That lens was also good, and I used it occasionally for about 5 years. I say occasionally, because 50mm on a crop sensor isn't my preferred focal length since I mostly shoot wildlife (my 100-400L II is basically glued to my camera); it was perfect for portraits though. I was becoming frustrated with the autofocus on that lens-- it's very dated-- and heard great things about this new 1.8. At around $100 I decided to go for it.This was a couple months ago. I'm mostly a photohobbyist but I do the occasional professional work for my job or friends. I had the opportunity to bust it out (for the first time, really) yesterday at a studio photoshoot for work, and WOW, it blew me away. I brought several more expensive lenses to that shoot (100-400L and 100L) but due to the lighting and distance I was working with, the 50mm was the best option with my 80D. I was concerned at first since I didn't know this lens as well, but I left that shoot with photos that had my coworkers saying they couldn't wait to bring me on the next one. I also can't wait to use it for studio shots again.A couple of caveats: the build is pretty cheap. It's a very light lens, which can be a good thing, but I'd be worried about dropping this even a couple inches (RIP: my previous 1.8). At the price, though, a replacement won't break the bank. The other thing to keep in mind is that on a crop sensor camera, like my much-loved 80D, this field of view might be a little tighter than you want. This lens would be difficult to use in cramped quarters, and if you want a walk-around lens for a crop sensor, I'd sooner suggest the 28mm 2.8, or even the 40mm. I have the former, and it's perfect for street photography, although it won't give you a fantastic background blur or bokeh like this lens will.If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive lens to give you professional-quality portrait or product photography, this is your lens.

A Cat Lover's Dream & More
I will be absolutely honest and say that the main factor that convinced me to try this lens out was seeing a review where they posted a macro photo of their cat's nose. I smashed the buy button so hard and had to test it out for myself. I was not disappointed! Not only is the quality better than I imagined, but the bundle I got came with a really nifty usb that included a short video to help you get started. There's a lot of love that went into this product and I'm definitely happy with my purchase! I also learned about the Shutterbug and recommend adding that to your cart as well (I plan to nab that next), so you don't have to worry about juggling your phone and causing blurry shots, etc.

My favorite purchase of the year
I'm a novice. I barely know how to work a camera, and recently learned about the different camera modes my dslr has by watching a couple youtube videos. Also, I bought my lens refurbished from the Canon website, it was a little bit cheaper, around $90, but it took about a week to get to me. This is my first lens that didn't come with the camera body, and my first prime lens.Like I said before, I don't know much about photography, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. Some people don't like the build quality on this lens because it's plastic with a metal mount, but that means that it's also lightweight. When I'm on a trip somewhere, I don't want to lug around a heavy camera and a heavy lens on top of it, so, I love that this is plastic. I haven't removed this lens from my camera since I've gotten it, and I've taken many more pictures then I ever have before.Update***So, I found out that my camera 70D is a crop sensor camera, and this means that this 50mm lens is more like an 80mm on a crop sensor camera. If I want a 50mm focal length, I would have to buy a 35mm lens. All this numbers stuff doesnt amount to much for me. In the end it still takes great looking pictures, and it was a great price. I took this lens to Yosemite with me, and I think it takes good landscape photos as well as portrait photos. The one drawback I have with this lens combined with my crop sensor is that I have to back up a ways to fit what I want I the picture. If I'm in a small room I have to get creative to make an interesting composition rather then having the luxury of getting everything in and maybe cropping later.

An updated nifty fifty, what’s not to like?
A great overall lens that’s largely replaced everything except my zoom lenses. Note that if you’re using this on a crop sensor camera like I am, the actual equivalent of the 50mm lens is about ~80mm or so in reality, so take that into account. AF is great, and of course the depth of field is great as well.

Great camera and price
There’s not much to fault on this camera apart from the crop factor in 4K and you lose the autofocus.I would highly recommend this camera for multipurpose and especially vlogging.

Great lens for the price. More of a zoom lens for crop cameras, but still great.

Q
Can the ND filter be adjusted in strength?
A
No, the ND filter in the magnetic set is an ND1000 (extends the shutter speed by a factor of 1000). However, it would be technically difficult to construct a magnetic, yet adjustable ND filter.
Q
Will this work on my sony a6000 and tokina minolta 100-300mm macro zoom?
A
Yes
Q
Too loose/there is gap between lens and adapter ring
A
  1. If there is ever any more than a slight amount of rotational play, you may want to try tightening the lens mount adapter so it will hold the lens tighter to the mount. There are 3 flanges in the middle of the adapter (what the lens locks onto) that are split open slightly, this gap is what gives the tension that holds the lens tight to the body. Over time and with use these gaps decrease in size, no longer pulling the lens tight to the adapter, which allows the lens to move inside the mount more than it should.
  2. To tighten the fit, get a slim metal object (a #1.5 or #2.0 small flat eyeglass screwdriver is ideal) and insert it into the slit to open it up just a little bit (see images below, make sure to do it to all 3 evenly). The more you open the gap, the tighter the lens will be to the adapter; too much and the lens will have a hard time mounting so make sure to do it just a little bit at a time to all 3 flanges evenly, it doesn’t take much at all to get a tight fit.Note: please do not use too much strength, or the shrapnel will be damaged.

Q
does this works with a canon t5 (1200d)???
A
Yes. This product is designed for crop sensors. They work great on my T3i worth the buy.
Q
WILL THIS WORK ON sONY NEX 5T?
A
Yes. NEX-5T is a APS-C crop sensor. I've used these sensor cleaners on my Sony A6000. They work very well.
