I got this for close up images. I’m still learning how to get the best focus - it’s not 1/2” away, as the booklet that came with my lens says - but I’m impressed with the clarity I can get without a whole lot of effort.The design is pretty good. There’s a nice thick protective rim around the lenses, and the clip works really, really well - it is easy to position and it takes effort to dislodge. I wish each lens came with its own cap, though, because I don’t really want to carry both around with me most of the time. But that’s really my only complaint. I would absolutely buy again.Update: Getting a second one for my son.

Beautiful lens, great for portraits & close up shots!!!

This is my first fixed lens. I can't tell you how close I came to returning it. I just couldn't get along with it.However, reading about how much people love this lens, I figured whatever was wrong was probably my fault...and it was. I simply was not accustomed to the fixed length and the depth of field.The colors and clarity are great...once the photographer learns how to use it. While this will never be my go-to lens (I like wider views), it's nice to know I have this as a choice. I've attached a photo here, but I doubt the quality will show through here on Amazon reviews.

This device should receive some kind of industry design award. It channels the builtin flash light to an even ring of LEDs for close up purpose. Must have if you plan to take a lot of macro close up photos. All the instructions listed in amazon assumes you know how to remove the lens mount on the camera so it was never mentioned. The full instruction to mount the Macro ring is as follow:1. Take your camera, put both of your thumbs on the two side of the lens mount (the ring that has a red dot on it).2. Turn counter-clockwise 1/4 turn until you feel the mount is released.3. Remove the lens mount.4. Position the macro ring on the lens by aligning the white dot on the micro ring to the white dot (7 o'clock position) on the lens. Turn clockwise until the macro ring intake cover the flash.5. Switch on your camera and turn the dial to the macro mode.6. Press down arrow on the OK dial and go to flash setting. Select the LED on setting.7. I TRYED THIS BINOS UP CLOSE AS WELL AS FAR OFF AND THE VIEW IS VERY CLEAR EITHER WAY. A TRIPOD WOULD BE HELPFULL, BUT ALSO WORKS WELL HAND HELD.ALL IN ALL, I LOVE THIS BINOS.

It looks like a lens from even up close. I've had people ask why I had a lens then watch they're face when I drink from it. It keeps my coffee hot for a few hours.
