Nifty fifty indeed!
Great bokeh and blur. My first prime lens; using this on my very modest Rebel T6. Way better than the kit lens, but the 50mm is definitely a close up lens - better for portraits or photoshoots. I think it's too cropped for off the mill street photography or architecture. For the price though, the ability for it to go the f1.8 is remarkable. I wish the autofocus was a bit better, and the sharpness (not sure if it's the Rebel's fault though) would be more pronounced in photos. Love the lightness too - it makes a DSLR really compact but still so versatile.

Nifty Fifty
This is now my main lens after getting it from Amazon. I got same day delivery through Amazon Prime. The 50mm lens is a must have lens for any serious photographer. It is lightweight and produces sharp pictures. The auto focus is rather fast compared to the kit lenses that I got with my camera.

but I do like it. It is very sharp and the color .
I have had this lens just a short time, but I do like it. It is very sharp and the color is good. I like the lens better at 11, than 22, so if youre deciding between this and the the 22mm prime you would have to take that into consideration. In other words for a wide angle, I would squeak this just above the Rokinon 12mm. And it is nice to have some zoom to say 14 or 15. But to compare the 22mm of this lens to the 22mm prime, I would go with the prime, which I own. And of course the 22m prime is faster and better for soft backgrounds. All that being said, it is definitely a great lens for the M series, and it may turn out to be one of the lens I use the most. I do find the lens collapse switch annoying, but I can live with that.

You can't afford not to buy one
Prime lenses are nearly always better than their zoom counterparts at equivalent focal lengths.I previously owned the last generation of this lens, and found that I was using it more than my kit lens. It was sharper, faster, and gave me better results, and losing some focal range was an acceptable sacrifice. This new version is much easier to focus as they're moved the focus ring behind the front element. Unfortunately, the focus is motor driven and the camera must be on and engaged to focus the lens.My images have been sharp, with great contrast and good bokeh.I was considering the 50mm f/1.4, but all research I was able to find showed that there wasn't much advantage aside from the additional available light. Plus you could buy a few of these for the same cost...If you only have your kit lens, and you never shot with any old manual SLRs (where fast 50mm lenses were king), you owe it to yourself to pick one of these up. They're a lot of fun, and the image quality will shock you when you remind yourself you only spent $120 on the lens

Everyone should have this
I never had used prime lens before and after going through the reviews and watching some YouTube videos on how great this lens is, that too at low price range, I immediately decided to buy it. Worth spending money on this. Now mostly I use it all the time unless required to change it to zoom lens or kit lens.

Q
Is this gonna fit any Nikon lenses ?
A
I have a 50mm prime, 24-70, 70-200 and a 35mm prime and it fits them all. If day as long ss your lens has internal filter threads and is one of the sizes listed you will be good to go.
Q
Will this work on my sony a6000 and tokina minolta 100-300mm macro zoom?

Too loose/there is gap between lens and adapter ring
A
  1. If there is ever any more than a slight amount of rotational play, you may want to try tightening the lens mount adapter so it will hold the lens tighter to the mount. There are 3 flanges in the middle of the adapter (what the lens locks onto) that are split open slightly, this gap is what gives the tension that holds the lens tight to the body. Over time and with use these gaps decrease in size, no longer pulling the lens tight to the adapter, which allows the lens to move inside the mount more than it should.
  2. To tighten the fit, get a slim metal object (a #1.5 or #2.0 small flat eyeglass screwdriver is ideal) and insert it into the slit to open it up just a little bit (see images below, make sure to do it to all 3 evenly). The more you open the gap, the tighter the lens will be to the adapter; too much and the lens will have a hard time mounting so make sure to do it just a little bit at a time to all 3 flanges evenly, it doesn’t take much at all to get a tight fit.Note: please do not use too much strength, or the shrapnel will be damaged.

Q
What kind of rear and front caps would I buy to go on this since it doesn't come with any?
A
I don't think you need any. There is no glass.
