I've done some research on the various brands of oil filters and K&N are the best made ones out there for my money. YouTube has vids comparing filters. There are some that show what the filters are made of - metal, plastic, even cardboard inside. Look for non-sponsored ones. For a buck more (if that!), the added protection is well worth it. Also, the filters don't require a filter wrench. A standard wrench or socket and ratchet are all that's needed. Do you know where YOUR filter wrench is...?

I use this filter for my 2006 GTO since the start of ownership. I can't say much as to how it works, I just know it does its job. The one feature I do like is the ability to use a wrench to remove the filter rather than having a dedicated oil filter removal tool. A box end wrench does the job.

Filter is good, the wrench is not strong enough, I installed twice this filter to my 2005 Chrysler 300 Limited, second time, the socket has stripped of the filter head before filter is released. I had to use traditional filter wrench with some help of rubber band to hold the filter in the wrench. K&N should strengthen the filter structure.

Removing this with a socket wrench is way easier than using a filter wrench. Construction seems way better than the Fram filter I used to use.

It does have the nice little add on to the filter for a wrench instead of a oil wrench. ( You can still use the oil wrench on it)

I've been using this oil filter after I first got my Gen.3 Dodge Dakota with the 3.9L engine. Where the filter is located, I can barely get my band style filter wrench to go around the filter, because of the tight area between that and the frame of the truck. This allows me to get under there with a 1" box end wrench and get it off no problem, and without getting my filter wrench stuck! K&N has always made reliable products, and these are some of the best on the market. Unlike Fram filters, these are manufactured to withstand high pressure, and if you go to YouTube and see the videos of guys cutting all the major filters on the market open, you can see first hand why these are great oil filters to go with for your vehicle.

I try to use K&N products as much as possible. I have two Volvos (740 and 940) that have well over 200,000 miles on each. The wrench off cap is so handy because the filter is hard to get a regular filter wrench on.

The only filter I'll use on my bikes! The wrench but is an added bonus
