This lens absolutely blew me away. I have the Canon f/1.2L and used to have the f/1.4 and simply got this to see if the STM version was an improvement from the original nifty fifty. The lens now has a metal mount, which gives it an all better look and a bit more sturdiness in the hand. It is still pretty "plasticky", but you're paying $125 for it, what more do you want? Performance wise I can 100% guarantee you will see little to no difference when compared to the f/1.4, definitely not a $200 difference! The only difference is that you get not even half a stop more of light. If you're teetering on whether to get the f/1.4 or this lens. Get this lens. It may not look as pretty or aesthetically pleasing as the f/1.4, but you will get the same results, and they are stunning. I won't go as far to say it's better than 1.2L, but I don't think you'll find you need any need to upgrade, whatsoever, unless you have an occupation that calls to. Don't forget to perform micro adjustments with your lenses, this back focused so I had to adjust it to -5.Update 6/26/18: I have had this lens for 2 years now and still stand by everything I said above! Because this lens is so light I always have it in my bag and a lot of the time, on my camera. Crazy versatile and still sharp 2 years later.

Inexpensive filter protection for my 85mm lens. Fits perfectly!!!

I've used this with my 35mm f/1.4 E-Mount . By far, this polarizer has not came off my lens when i took it out for travelling to Hawaii. It gave my shots more contrast, darkens the highlights to the point where I can use the image and of course, see through reflections. As a polarizer, it does what most polarizers do, I definitely would recommend this filter!Highlights:- Tiffen helps with maintaining the sharpness- Blocks reflections- Ups the contrasts in your shots and reduces highlights

Works exactly like it should. I bought this adapter instead of the second generation that K&F offers because of all the negative reviews that the newer one has. This one works and looks great, attaches to the body of the camera really well but the lens side it pretty tight, not too tight just tighter than I am used to. LOVE being able to use all my Minolta lenses on my A7R, (35mm f2.8, 50mm f1.2, 85mm f1.7 and a few others). Brings new life to old vintage lenses that would otherwise be sitting on the shelf with occasional use with my film cameras. If you're on the hunt for a MD-E-mount adapter for your old Minolta lenses, BUY THIS ONE. I got exactly what I needed and all my lenses focus to infinity as well. (actually slightly past infinity but thats better than not being able to at all).

For only $150, you get a very high quality portrait lens (it even has a metal mount). The difference between this one and the f/1.4 does not look to be worth getting the 1.4

As expected, this is a perfect all around lense. For those who don't know the difference in the look for the 85mm to the 50mm (i know i went back and forth on this until i bought both) and the 85mm is much more zoomed in (making it difficult to stand far enough away indoors with) and a more shallow depth of field. While i love the 85mm, the 50mm is perfect for indoors or when you can stand closer to your subject.I use this as my default lense when I'm not sure what ill need or if i can only fit one lense in my case. I use it for portraits and for taking photos of the dogs that come into the shop.If you arent sure which lense to splurge on, start with this one.
