Preliminary review after a few days
I ride a Can Am Spyder (2 wheels in the front one in the back)motorcycle. 1. forget using the Sepa /black and white or vibrant modes. Just do that in post production. I have only used the 2.7/30FPS so I can have the image stabilization. I currently have the camera mounted on my side mirror so far so good. I am going work on fixing up a chin mount. It is almost impossible to know when the camera is recording from a distance of 2 feet on a sunny day you cannot see the red light when its recording. The remotes works you just have to make sure the blue tooth is on. I had the screen on all the time today and it drained the battery in around 1/2 hour so if you put the screen in sleep mode you will get a lot more life out of the battery. I will add to this review as I go along so far I like it. I have the sound off since all I can hear is the wind on playback. I can add music and voice in post production. To be continued............Ok more after a few weeks of use, I was using with out the water housing and just screwed on to a Garmin tri-pod mount. Be very careful on how tight you screw the camera to any mount, you turn it to much and it will snap the cheap plastic and pull the threaded insert out of the camera. I have determined that I will need to step up to a Go-Pro Hero 6 or 7 black and buy the remote. This camera is excellent for almost everything else except what I intended to make it try to do.I think once I get a chin mount on my helmet most of the mounting issues and vibration issues will disappear for the most part. This camera has a lot of problems going from shaded areas on roads to bright sun when your riding at 50 to 60MPH. I think that may be due to the ISO speed not be set and just leaving it on auto. I may play around with that as well. I will buy another one if the go on saleFor someone who is not that nick picky as I am this camera will fill the bill. I never did get the app to work on the phone so that was another thing that turned me off to this unit, but I think all the action cameras in this price point have the same issues. I may add to this review again as I continue to use this camera.

Great starter mic for a very reasonable price.
I was looking into a new mic for doing online streaming and posting videos on YouTube, a lot of research pointed to this mount to people that are starting out. I would encourage that if you are in the same boat, to pick up this mic. It produces wonderful sound for a great price and in my personal case and opinion the Black Edition is worth the couple extra bucks because it fit with everything else I have. And when they say black edition, they mean it. There isn't a single thing on this mic that isn't black aside from the mic mute button led.The settings on the mic in terms of what directions it will pick up sound are fantastic. Setting it in cardioid (which I do my stuff) really will only pickup sound from the front of the mic.Truly a great purchase if you need an external mic.I use this mic with the RODE PSA1 swivel mount and Radius II shock mount. Everything goes together and works together smoothly.

Actually the 52mm does not fit the sigma 30mm lens
I ordered the 52mm filter because the 30mm f1.4 sigma lens for sony e-mount cameras has a 52mm thread but after lens arrived, I couldn't fit it on.But after-service support was pretty helpful in telling me this

First impressions and background
Just got this and started playing with it, but first a little background.I also have two 5 Blacks and a 7 Black. I drive a truck (truck, not peekup) and use these to record my trips and the traffic around me. I record several hours of video every day. With a minor amount of effort, these work much better than typical dashcams. I use them without batteries inside the cab, with USB-C cables powering them. They tend to overheat with the batteries installed when mounted inside the windshield. The 5s still overheat sometimes without the battery. The 7 seldom does. They're often in the sun for hours at a time, so this isn't really a fault. It's not what they're designed to do. The 7 stays connected to the app much better than the 5s do. It's just a much more capable camera all around. The Hero 7 Black TimeWarp and stabilization are first rate. The first video I took using it on my Jeep, a friend thought I'd bought a gyro-stabilized mount. It's that good. I assume the 8 is at least as good. I expect it to be better.I've also owned a cheaper "Action Camera". It actually handled the heat better, until the battery swelled up and destroyed the camera. If you're looking for a toy, those are fine. If you want something that lasts, GoPro, with all its faults, is just about all there is. Nothing else does what they do while taking a substantial amount of abuse. There is a dive case with external battery available from Suptig (on Amazon) for the 5, 6, and 7, but not for the 8. I use this case for the 5s when I mount them outside the truck. I use a Panavise mount with tethers outside the truck. The Panavise mount is heavy enough to hold the heavy battery with the camera mounted on it. I've also used this setup on my Jeep, but not as much as I'd like. There are dive cases for the 8, but not with external batteries that I've found. The main feature of the 8 that I was drawn to was the ability to switch from TimeWarp to Realtime and back while recording. Unfortunately, this control isn't available on the app, only on the camera screen. I'll just have to mount the 8 where I can tap the screen easily while driving. Not optimum, but not a deal killer. The app could be a lot better, but GoPro insists on using it for marketing. The app is useful, but I've already bought four GoPros. The cameras sold themselves. The app lacks a lot of features I'd like to see on it, though it is much better now than when I was given my first GoPro 4. The 4 still works fine, by the way, and I still use it where I'm afraid I might lose the camera, such as under the Jeep. The battery door and charge port on the Hero 8 Black are completely different from the Hero 5 Black and Hero 7 Black. If you plan to use the camera for long periods without the battery, you'll need to get a battery door designed to allow connecting USB while closed. I've ordered one. Just search for "Hero 8 battery door." The alternative is to leave the battery door open, or off. I really don't like that choice. Either way, the camera isn't waterproof without the original door in place and closed.I can't recommend any of the GoPro 6 series, because for a bit more you can get a 7, and for a bit less, you can get a 5 Black. I bought the 8 instead of another 7 because the price dropped to within $40 of the 7, and there are several improvements. Before you buy any of them, do some research into what each can and cannot do. There are various video modes on each. The older models drop in price every time a new model comes out.I'll edit this after I put this one to work for a while.

Best Car Mounting Kit
This is the best car mounting kit I've seen. It's very cleverly designed. The mount is non-intrusive on the dash and looks better than the typical mounts. Instead of the typical large, black, plastic cradle, there's just a small silver orb. Attaching the phone to the mount is quick and simple, just tap the phone onto the mount! The smart design also allows you turn, rotate, and adjust your phone easily after it's attached. The only thing I don't like is that you have to attach a magnet to the back of the phone. It would be better if the attachment were thinner so it didn't stick out as much. Also, my phone is black while the attachment is sliver and red. I don't know if it comes in different colors, but it would also be less noticeable if the attachment were all black. Overall though, it works very well as a phone mount and I'm impressed by the design.

Like a glove
I had a Hoya 1B HMC Skylight before, which broke over a pebble and saved my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (on a Canon 40D house) when I dropped the bag (a Soligor Classic Line, size M) from about 1m / 3.5ft.I decided on this filter mainly for the cost savings compared to a Hoya or Dörr etc, and am very pleased.I'm not a pro photographer, and use this filter mostly indoors (as mentioned above, it sits on the front of a 30mm f/1.4), so UV influx is rarely a problem anyway. That said, I haven't noticed any bad influence at all of this filter on the picture quality I get, and the fit (thread size and cap compatibility) is great and build quality seems all good so I'm a happy sailor.

Really minimal and nice!
Really like this mount!!! It's way smaller than I expected which is even better. Holds great and doesn't look bulky in my car at all. Can barely tell it's there. I never liked those big clunky phone holders. The only bummer is that you have to attach the magnet plate to the back of your phone in order to have it stick to the mount. If you don't want something hanging out on your phone forever, then this might not be for you. I have an all black phone case and the magnet is black. You really can't tell it's there. Also, if you a have cordless charger pad, you wont be able to use it after you have a magnet on the back. So keep this in mind. So far so good, really nice and recommend.
