That's fine. The polarizing filters also have a rotary thread on the front where the filter plug-in system can be attached.

I don't have that lens with me. On the inside of its lenscap and on the ID on the lens, there should be the size of filter needed. If it requires a 58 then you are fine. There are also adapters to go up or down.

will the filters work for the solar eclipse? My area is 100% for total eclipse.

If you polarizing filter is square and size is 100X100mm, the hold is okay for you
