Excellent unit, good customer service
We bought this just prior to 2 week trip to Kona and Maui. It is discreet and has panning views. We were able to check the camera daily, take pictures, rotate the camera to check 4 entry doors with just one unit....we will be adding additional units and linking them. Great buy. My husband called support line and received needed info on questions quickly.

This product is used for both local and remote access. Local access was a snap. Remote access required customer tech support or over an hour. The support was helpful but the language was somewhat difficult to understand. Now I have both remote and local access on my Android, Ipad and PC...yeah. Worth the ordeal...but be prepared for an extended sett up time for router pass-through and separate camera name assignment for local and remote access (each name contains the required IP address and port)...for example, a two camera system would be called localaccess1 and mobile1 and then localaccess2 and mobile2.

Good so far, but some setup issues if you don't ha
This is my first wifi security camera, so I can't compare it to other models. I like the quality of the pictures and the unit itself is working properly. The simplest way to connect to your network is via the Amcrest View Pro app and the WPS button on your router/access point. I'm in a condo where the condo association provides wifi, and I have no access to the router, so it's impossible for me to push any WPS button. Not only that, but any wireless peripheral device I logged onto the network could not be detected by PC's, phones, or tablets because the condo was blocking access for security reasons. So, step 1 was to contact the condo's wifi support provider to open up access for my wireless peripherals. They created a secure subnet for me on one of their routers.Step 2 was to contact Amcrest technical support for assistance configuring the wifi camera and the Amcrest View Pro app without using WPS. I gave them remote control of my laptop, and we used an ethernet cable and a browser to find the camera on my wifi subnet and connect to it, and used Amcrest View Pro on my Android tablet to name the camera, set a password, and such. Then I was able to disconnect the camera from the laptop and use Amcrest View Pro on the tablet to set up motion detection, email alerts and a myriad of other parameters in the app.I also installed the Amcrest Cloud app on the tablet and set up a cloud account. Now, when the camera detects motion, it sends sends video to the cloud, and I receive an email with a link to the video. I can also use LiveView to see what the camera is seeing remotely. This is a beachfront condo which we occupy only during the summer months, and the camera, motion detection, email feature, and cloud storage will enable us to keep an eye on the condo during the off season.I give high marks to Amcrest technical support for their friendly, competent support in getting me connected through means other than WPS.

Q
Will this work for a nikon f-mount (d3300) to sony e-mount? ( a7iii)
A
it could work with a nikon f-mount (d3300) to sony e-mount( a7iii).
Q
Will this mount to a Sony A7R ii?
A
As far as I know it will, I was not informed that Sony had changed the size of the lens mount on the new sony’s A7 models , that would be counter productive to any person owning a Sony lens!
Q
The difference between APS-C, full-frame, 4/3 sensor
A
  1. Adapting APS-frame lens to full-frame camera, it may generate vignetting, some cameras could correct it by adjust APSC, please contact us and provide your lens&camera model to check the way to correct it.
  2. Adapting full-frame lens to APS-frame camera (i.e: large format to medium format, medium format to 35mm, 35mm to micro 4/3) provides excellent edge-to-edge sharpness. The smaller image field helps minimize the effects of lens distortion and aberration by using the 'sweet spot' or center of the larger lens image circle. and it will magnify the focal length by 1.6 on Canon, 1.5 on Nikon and Sony,2.0 on M4/3 camera.

Q
Will this work for a 4/3 format camera. the crop factor is 0.5 so it is a little smaller than the aps-c sensor.
A
Yes I'd think so. You have to imagine these swabs as flat Q-tips with the flat edge about 1/2 the height of a aps-c sensor.
