I've been a long time user of Sony Handycams and I was excited to upgrade a new camera. Sony's video quality has always been something I'm impressed with. I've stuck with them for about 17 years now.First off, I was surprised at how light the camcorder is. It doesn't feel heavy at all, sometimes people associate lightness with it being cheap in quality. In my opinion, it still feels pretty solid. I also like that I'm able to charge from the USB cable that's tucked away in to the strap. Nice unexpected feature!I love that Sony has switched from proprietary memory cards to Micro SD cards. These come so cheap nowadays that you can get a 32gb micro SD card that can handle a couple of hours of HD video.I still am rating the CX405 with 5 stars because for the price and quality that you get, it's fantastic. I wish the CX405 could have some apps like slow motion or any of the others that you can get with the Sony Nex cameras. But for simple point and record needs with solid HD video recording, this is a great little camera!My purposes are simple, I need a camcorder that's light, takes good quality video with good sound. The CX405 does a good job at this. I won't be shooting the next big Hollywood blockbuster with the camcorder (unless it's like a sequel to The Blair Witch Project). But it will capture my travel trips and family events just fine.I've had a number of Handycam cameras for my amateur needs. Sony has always done a great job on making tough, unassuming camcorders. I've put all of them through the wringer and with some of them being 15+ years old, they still work today! My only reasons for upgrading is that the technology continually improves. Great little camera that won't break your budget.

i'm an amateur youtuber who needed a better camera for when I travel. the Rebel t5i i was using is too big, too slow to focus for video. This camera is about the lowest price point you can get for a sony camcorder. I was looking for 1080p 60fps recording, and this was the cheapest one.pros:- 1080p, 60fps- stabilized image- frames are very smooth in output video- I dropped this camera from a 6' tripod by accident. the lens casing cracked, however the camera functions as if nothing ever happened. I understand there was luck involved in this, but that kind of construction makes me a sony camcorder customer for life. when i upgrade, it will be another sony camcorder.- very good onboard mic for this pricecons:- no external mic input. the autofocus engine makes a clicking sound that's apparent in the onboard mic. you can turn the microphone down, but the clicking will always be there.- limited manual functions. can get grainy and discolored at low light

 I really like this solar wireless backup camera kit. All you really have to do to get it working is charge the camera, activate it with the included card pin and power up the monitor. Just mount the camera panel (4” x 3”) wherever you want using the double-sided 3M tape, slide the camera in and mount the monitor using the suction cup mount. For monitor power you can use the adapter that plugs into the 12 volt accessory socket or hardwire it (the adapter has an on-off switch). It’s pretty simple. I’ve installed wired cameras and it’s not much fun. This is so much easier. Almost anyone should be able to set this up. I tested the camera inside the house (too much rain at the moment to mount the camera) and it works well (see video). The picture is clear. There’s a bunch of settings you can adjust to tailor the camera to fit your needs. For testing I turned off the backup guidelines and set the camera turnoff time to manual. The instructions are quite clear and there’s a link and QR code for an installation video. This camera is well worth the money.

If you have a Sony camera, this is the best flash you can use!!!

Wow! super impressed with quality of video I have an outdated camera Sony Handycam and needed to acquire smaller camera for general purpose. This camera will do it for me. easy to operate without looking at the manual. I like the fact that you have the option to remove date stamp and the application to view pictures and operate camera from my Cell phone. Nice camera and NICE price.

Part 1 - Minolta MD to Sony NEX adapterTechnically, it slightly overshoots infinity but the issue is easily corrected by dialing back the focus ring just a tad --- Not exact but clearly better than not-at-all.Although very light due to extensive aluminum usage, the build quality and fit-and-finish of the adapter is superb. Connections on the lens and camera mount sides are tight and precise --- absolutely, zero slop. The top of the lens release button is flattened making the lens removal process very easy and comfortable.Other notes:- There are no electrical connections so focus and zoom must be done manually on the lens itself- When mounting the lens, turn the adapter clockwise till you hear a "click"- Tested with a Minolta 85mm f/1.7 Rokkor-X MD lens mounted to a Sony a6000 camera-----------------------Part 2 - Nikon Ai to Sony NEX adapterEdit: Based on my positive experience with the Minolta MD adapter, I also purchased the Nikon Ai adapter later.As with the Minolta MD adapter, the Nikon Ai version focuses beyond infinity a tiny bit. Fortunately, the same solution applies - dial back the focus ring and the horizon will become crystal clear. The build quality is impeccable and the finish is smooth and clean of burrs or machine marks. Connections on both sides are taut and precise with zero play.Additional notes for Nikon Ai adapter:- No electrical connections present so focus and zoom must be done manually on the lens.- Unlike the Minolta MD adapter, mounting the lens for Nikon adapter requires a counter-clockwise turn until you hear the "click" of the locking mechanism- Tested with a Nikon Micro Nikkor 55m f/2.8 Ai-S MF lens mounted to a Sony a6000 camera
