Shallow Depth of Field
Something I wish I'd understood when I bought this -- the camera's lens can only focus to about two feet away -- so let's say you want to talk to someone from slightly further away? You're out of luck. Within two feet, it's a great webcam with decent auto-adjustment, though it's auto-exposure is sometimes kind of wack.

Great lens, great price, just missing one thing...
Great lens, really inexpensive, but i really miss full-time manual focus like i have in my "old" USM II lenses.

This lens has quickly become my new favorite for p
A absolutely ADORE this lens. I am an amateur photographer and this was my first purchase outside the kit lens that came with my Canon. I was impressed that I could get a lens of this quality at such a reasonable price and it was available on Prime so it arrived in two days. The lens is static, which does take some getting used to. The image quality from this lens is crisp and clear. I shoot with it on very low aperture and my images all have turned out extremely sharp. The auto-focus is a little more sensitive than a regular lens, which also takes some getting used to in the beginning. Because this lens is static, the manual focus is also right near where you put your hand to hold the lens steady, so be sure to watch out for that or you might accidentally override the auto focus by slightly turning the manual focus ring. This lens has quickly become my new favorite for portraiture photography, especially with newborns. This review was posted voluntarily without promotions, coupons or discounts.

Better images faster auto focus than Ver II
Works fine on my 70-200 lens, though it does drags a bit, focus is better, when the image is acquired, closer shots are much better than a distant shots. Considering, I had to manually focus the ver II, this is a god send. You will need to use your tripod of course. That will be my next big purchase, a strong tripod., for now, I ordered and tripod sack, attaches to each leg and you can put something heavy in it to better stabilize the tripod, if that works, I can put off buying an expensive tripod for a time... Took pictures of an eagles nest from across a lake, was full out on the lens, on a tripod, when the wind blew, the tripod shook just slightly, then to compensate, I took several burst of photo's, which dispite the wind, got a couple of keepers, with this I had to slow the shutter speed down, increased the ISO, as the eagle wasn't moving, it gave me better focused image. The 2x III, is better than Ver II, Focus is somewhat fasters, and images are more in focus.

Well made
This adapter seems to be well made. I haven’t tried the auto focus because I wanted it as an adapter for a manual focus lens. For that purpose it is very good.

Quality Image, but not auto-focus
Disappointing that the auto-focus does not work using a Canon 5D Mark II. I would honestly get much more use out of it if Canon would extend this ability to more of the pro line than just the 1D. Image quality is very good though and it's nice to double the zoom with my existing lenses.

It's a great fit on my canon RP and canon EOS lens
This is a great auto focus lens mount adapter. It seems to work flawlessly the few times that I have used it. I would recommend this product.

Q
Can the lens aperture be controlled with this adapter? I am worried that I won't be able to change aperture values as there don't appear to be any electronics.
A
Hello, although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other functions will not operate while using this adapter. There is no electrical contacts in the adapter ring. Full manual operation, manual focus, manual iris adjustment can be achieved with body manual exposure, aperture priority exposure.
Q
Trying to use with my canon 50 mm 1.8 but it won’t focus? Does this not work with this lens?
A
yeah, this is just a basic adapter... you need to get a metabones adapter if you want the lens to "talk" to the camera ($650).... that's the whole point of the metabones
Q
Does this adapter allow for canon fd lenses to focus to infinity on sony e-mount mirrorless cameras?
A
yes, i had no problems with infinity focus with this adapter. the only FD mount lens i use anymore with my sony is a vivitar 20mm, and i pretty much only shoot infinity focus with it.
Q
how about Focus Peak, will work ?
A
Focus peaking is controlled by the camera, not the adapter. You need to check your individual camera. My Panasonic G6 does have focus peaking active with this adapter and other adapters also.
Q
Is it compatible with a7 ii or a7r ii? another brand differentiates the original and second models of a7x cameras?
A
It works well on both.
