One of the best videography lenses on the market f
Loved my nifty fifty....love this one even more. Improved bokeh, improved image quality and focus, improved autofocus....pretty much improved everything over Canon's previous f1.8 50mm.Someone mentioned that the autofocus is slower than other STM lenses...this has not been my experience. Snappy, fast focus, that nails it the first time around with none of that annoying bounce. Coupled with the 70D's awesome focus system, this lens is a videographer's dream. The only, minor complaint I have is the focus by wire system. I wish, wish, wish there would have been a true mechanical focus on the lens. This new 50mm has a much improved focus ring, that fits a follow focus very well. With a mechanical focusing system, this lens would have been perfect. But it is still great, and one of the top videography lenses for Canon shooters, IMHO.

Works well
I use a Nikon D3100, I bought a Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens. That lens has 58mm threads. I bought the 58mm Tiffen Circular Polarizer filter to use on that lens. At the time of my order it was sold and fulfilled by Amazon. I paid for shipping and received the filter in less than four days. The filter came in a hard plastic box that I use for storing the filter. It looked new and works fine. No filter problems and I give it 5 stars. The only issue is screwing it onto the lens is a bit tricky because you only have half the width to work with but I blame that on my fingers and lack of any real nails. I have noticed that if the filter doesn't go on straight it may make a glare effect but when I see that, I rescrew it on and that takes care of the issue.

Canon ES-68 Lens Hood
This lens hood is an exact fit for my EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Canon Lens. I made the desicion to go with the original Canon piece as opposed to a cheaper knock off due to the fact that I have original Canon Lens Hoods for different lenses. I always prefer the better build of the original. This lens hood is very solid, durable, and has a great matte black finish. The hood also has a great locking feature too so when you put it on it clicks and locks into place. There is a button on the outside of the lens hood that you press to release the hood (see photo). This lens hood does a great job at resisting flare in my at home studio as well as when doing walk-around photography. It can be reversed or put on backwards as to surround the lens which is great for transport so that it doesn't take up space. If you're not sure if this will fit your lens, go to Canons website and check compatability. If you have the 50mm f/1.8 STM Canon Lens, then I highly recommend you purchase this piece. If my review has helped you, please let me know! Thanks and happy shooting!

now i know why its the BEST Selling lens in the wo
update:using the eos m3 i compared the images from this lens to a few i just took with the older canon 85mm 1.8 lens. even though the 85mm cost like nearly 3 times more. the 50mm 1.8 STM in my opinion had both sharper image quality and much better coloring. side by side the 85mm 1.8 seemed washed out, so much that i went back to redo a set a photos i just took with the 50mm 1.8 instead. If you have a newer canon digital camera like the eos m3 , i would highly recommend the 50mm 1.8 , not only will you save money but overall much better image quality and usability as you dont have to step back so far, but still looking very nice![older review:]I was a bit hesitent to buy this lens as i already had the 50mm 1.4 USM which is a great lens but the one i had started having some sluggish autofocusing issues and in some points simply would not autofocus right (more so if the image was fully blurry and you were trying to focus on something sometimes it just would not focus) But i just bought the Canon EOS M3 (on ebay) and decided since it was a nicer faster camera then the M1 maybe it would be worth trying out the 50mm 1.8 STM as i hear it was faster in focusing and lighter weight too and even a bit sharper wide open. After tryng it out i must say it really is very nice VERY fast autofocus compared to the 50mm 1.4 in my opinion. Sharp and produces nice blurry backgrounds. Does not feel cheap. I mean it def doesnt feel "pro like" BUT it doesnt feel like a toy in my opinion just about the "Right" quality for something like this. For non full frame cameras this likely is the BEST Option you can get for starting out with wanting to take more photos of people. as cropped sensors make it more like a 85mm lens so you get a nice flattened image of the person without having to stand too far back (which can be better in many situations).I think after years of trying diffrent things ive found the best solution for photos of people is this lens + the canon eos m3 (with adapter) so that you have a nice compatish camera that is not too heavy or bulky and very fast and sharp! My issue with the 50mm 1.4 was that sometimes inside it didnt "grab" the image good or it took too long or it wasnt quite as sharp or whatever. Much like the EOS-M 22mm 2.0 lens which is a great value for the price, this is as well (if not more so since you really can use this better for pictures of people). If your a bit new to photography and want to take images to stand out vs all these "cell phone selfies" Just get one of these you'll be amazed at the quality and the possibilities it opens up for a great build and price! I liked it so much i put the box for the 50mm 1.4 in my drawer and proudly put the box for the 50mm 1.8 STM on my dresser because i think for now ive found it is the BEST Lens canon has for the price and what it can do to make great photos of people. Cant wait to use it even more!

Awesome Camera, Questionable Sale
I really love this camera, and at the 2-2.5k USD price point I think it is the best out there. I usually jump between Nikon and Sony, so this felt like an awesome blend of the two (with the autofocus being the only quality that's worse than both of the others). Overall, for narrative filmmaking, travel filmmaking, vlogging that doesn't challenge the autofocus with fast-changing lighting or subjects, general photography (except for maybe sports unless you're okay with 6K Photo burst) this is an amazing all-rounder. The kit lens is also super versatile. The 20mm is awesome for vlogging, architecture, and some landscape work, while 60mm is decent enough for some light portraiture and compression. I paired this with the newer 85mm 1.8 to satisfy some low-light, bokeh and telephoto gaps that the kit lens leaves. I think an S5 + 20-60mm, 85mm 1.8 (and/or 35/50mm 1.8), and 70-300mm would be a perfect combo for most hybrid shooters that don't require faster zooms for sports/weddings/other high-pressure and non-repeatable moments. This issue: I thought I purchased a new camera, but the package doesn't come with sealing so there's no way to really tell, but I found that my 20-60mm Lens came with the wrong model lens cap and the rear lens cap has some subtle scratches on it. It seems like the optics are pristine and the camera looked and worked equally fantastic, but when you pay for a new product (even if it was on sale at the time) you expect to have an unused product. I'm fine with dinged up, scratched and beat gear, but I'd much prefer to be the one to run it through the mud and to at least not pay a "new" price for someone else's mistakes.Still a wonderful camera and I will either re-order or wait for a successor, because this is really something special.

Q
Will the 49 mm work on my 50 mm Yongnuo lent?
A
50 mm Yongnuo lens filter size is 58mm, you can reconfirm your lens mark as "ø" (diameter) symbol, if the number is 58mm, it would be ok ,thanks.
Q
Does the autofocus work with the Nikon lens on the Canon camera?
A
This adapter is non-electronic and so will not enable electronic communication between lens and camera, so no autofocus.
Q
Will this work with the pentax mount asahi takumar smc 50mm 1.4?
A
Yes. I have the same lens and adaptor on my Sony a7ll and it works beautifully. The m42 is also known as the 'universal' mount as other 3rd party camera and lenses also used it. I own 6 other K&F e-mount adaptors to different lens makers (ltm, MD, CF/CD, Nikon) and they all are well built with a nice snug fit. Highly recommended.
Q
Will the nikkor 50mm 1.4D work with this?
A
Yes, the Nikkor 50mm 1.4d is an f mount lens so it should adapt just fine.
Q
Will this adapter allow me to mount a fujinon m42 55mm 1.8 and a sigma-z m42 135mm 2.8 to a sony a6000?
A
HI your fujinon m42 55mm 1.8 and a sigma-z m42 135mm 2.8 are M42 mount, the item can fit your camera and lens
