I bought speakers for my family's Mac Mini. I was shocked by the deep quality audio out of such small speakers. The design is also very attractive. I would pay more if you are seeking a deeper quality bass. However, for the money, you are buying speakers that would cost $100+ just years ago. My parents liked them also and bought a pair days after testing mine.

These are fine for what they do well, but don't expect too much from these either.Pros:1) Louder and clearer than the built-in speakers to the monitor.2) Attractive3) Good, clear midrange to top end at low to medium sound levels.4) Well designed and located, and easy to use volume controlCons:1) The big one is that at volume levels louder than medium, the sound gets congested and distorts. Perhaps as the drivers break-in, this aspect might get better (and drivers' suspensions do break-in and get more flexible).2) Even though there is sort of a bass port on the bottom, fuggedaboutit da bass. Perhaps if you were to put these right against the wall for bass reinforcement, you might get a hair more response, but these essentially have none. These speakers are not for listening to music at satisfying sound levels. These will be fine for watching YouTube videos, watching interviews, etc, things that will be helped with having speakers with greater clarity in the midrange and top end.But anyone who is looking for a pair of speakers that is going to sound very good and will be satisfying when listening to music, there will be far better options than these.So in summing up, they lack any real bass response. In some ways, that's better than huge, sloppy, gloppy bass. But they're not even giving you anything of substance. They're not even pretending to provide it. It's just not there. But they're not tinny sounding speakers, either. They're very good for the human voice and for general purpose. I got them for my 91 year old father-in-law who needed speakers that are capable of higher volume and clarity. These are quite good for that purpose. They're attractive, too.Regarding the USB connection, it's the USB that is providing power. More powerful speakers would need to be plugged into a power outlet on a power strip or to the wall. These, requiring a more modest amount of power, can get powered via the computer's USB. Sound gets plugged into the speaker port, as pretty much most speakers will.

I bought these thinking i'll get cheap speakers that will do the job, but these actually surpassed my expectations. No they dont sound like premium speakers, but they look and sound way better than the price suggests. Make sure you've got an equalizer installed though coz the stock bass is kinda meh.

After reading the reviews this is the system I went with for my gaming setup. It is now our music speakers as they sound better than my surround sound. The bass is incredible and the music is crisp. My only gripe is that the speakers aren't ideal for shooter games imo. Which is no big deal because I usually have my headset on for those anyway. Great speakers all around. Happy buyer here.

Exceeded expectations. speakers do a great job and the bass is powerful (which is good that you can adjust it all teh way off if you want) Best speakers i've ever owned. my last set was a $40 logitech set of speakers and subwoofer. they lasted me nearly 10 years. I'm glad i upgraded the extra money for the higher end logitech product because the sound quality is outstanding.

I have to say I wasn't expecting much with a set of outdoor speakers, but im very happy with the sound and and the size of these speakersI and using a Yamaha 7.2 sound system, these are my Zone 2 speakers, and sounds very nice outsideI would recommend these for clean crisp sound, but dont expect them to put out a lot of bass, outdoor speakers don't do that very well with the acoustics of the great outdoors
