Actually I would give these speakers 4.5 stars....the left facing comes off as a little bit louder, so to compensate I move the right facing to a diagonal position foward ,about 45 degrees forward...the only thing missing is a bass boost button...However, these speakers deliver a very strong performance, great sound separation..If you are looking for relative great sound, these a are the ones to buy at a modest price....For those of you that are not concerned with technical aspects of sound reproduction...Then these are the speakers for you.....So, I would give these speakers a 4.75 instead of 4.5

This is the third set of Yamaha Speakers I have purchased and the sound quality is amazing. These speaker rival my in-door Advent bookcase speakers at about a quarter of the price. I now have these speakers on my patio, deck, and garage. They are very easy to install and the weight is light enough handle on a ladder with no problems. I prefer them to a set of Boise Speaker that I have on my Dock because of the full range (much better highs and bass).

I came across Edifier speakers when I did some searching for budget-friendly bookshelf speakers, but ones that have good range. My Klipsch 2.1 setup was getting a bit long in the tooth and the sub no longer woofed, so it was time to pull a trigger on a new setup - and I'm glad I did. Upon unpacking these speakers, they don't feel cheap at all - good finish and materials & they have weight to them while not being heavy (if that makes any sense).Hooked them up, and found a white noise video on Youtube to help them break in properly...and then I load up a variety of songs on Youtube to test the speakers out. YES - I know Youtube's hardly the place to have the highest quality audio, so it should come as no surprise that when listening to songs they admittedly came out a little flat. The highs were decent enough, but from what I read about these speakers was that they tended to be a little bass-heavy. These were, in fact, bass-light to my tastes. Disappointment started to set in.I then opened up WinAmp (showing my age), selected some songs I had and adjusted the equalizer - and that was when these speakers delivered. Obviously the bass was there, but the highs sounded higher without distortion, everything just sounded fuller. The thoughts of having to immediately go out and buy a supplemental sub all but went away, after that.

Has excellent mid bass, especially for the price. I had to buy tweeters for my car because I wasn't getting enough treble during heavy bass parts of songs. The speakers are great if you are just using them and nothing else. If you get a subwoofer, you may want to pick up some tweeters to go in your car.

I have two words for this product. HOLY BALLS.Before I purchased this, I picked up a Logitech Z313. The sound quality was tremendously better than the OEM speakers that came with my computer, BUT the bass was TOO loud, and there was no toggle to control the bass independently. I instantly returned it. So, I decided to look around at some other speaker systems and came across this one. The reviews seemed to be positive, so I ordered this. Got it today, installed it and was amazed. Now, I listen to a lot of bass heavy music, but I also watch a lot of videos. With the Z313, I would watch videos on YouTube (not music) and the sound quality was just horrid. Being able to control the bass allows me to have bass when I want it, and turn it down when I don't. Update 06/05/22: Still in use, still working fine.Expensive? Yes. Sound expensive? Yes! These replaced what most people would consider standard outdoor speakers and the difference couldn't be more evident. Yes, I, too, was at first set back by the price, but now I have no regrets. The way I see it, outdoor speakers, especially if you entertain a lot, are something you should invest in. These speakers definitely overcome the main problem with outdoor speakers: lack of low end bass sound. I have them mounted horizontally under an eave and against a wall, with the bass radiator (the trick these things use to radiate the bass) bouncing the bass off the wall, which, in theory, helps expand the sound. The result is that even at a distance, the full effect of the music can be heard, including distinct low end bass. In addition, the left/right sound mixes nicely no matter what angle.I may have a better setup in the sense I have a separate receiver that does nothing but run the outdoor speakers. But if you have a good zone 2 setup on your receiver, you should be able to get the sound you want. I have experimented with numerous sound profiles available through the receiver and I can clearly hear the distinctions between them.I don't know how long they will last, but after 2.5 years they still sound as good as ever. I don't think you will do much better for outdoor speakers than these. If the price still haunts you, at least try them and return them if they don't meet up to your expectations, but they are worthy of the effort. They completely satisfied my outdoor needs and I'm happy I bought them.

These are real studio monitor speakers and also very large and heavy. People looking for multimedia speaker should keep away from this.Build and design- suberb manolithic design and build is rock solid.Accessories- only power cord.Sound-They have nearly flat sound with bright mids, smooth highs with light tight bass.Mids- Mids are bright thin sounding. They reveal suberbly. But they are unpleasant to listen for long duration. If you increase volume to get bass punch the mids becomes too bright and powerfull which causes ear fatigue. So low to moderate volume is best. Nealy 60 to 80db.. more then that it causes ear fatigue within short time.Highs- Highs are suberb smooth and refined. They are not as harsh as other monitors.Bass- Bass is of very high quality and precise. But they lack quantity compared to other 8 inch monitors. This is a blessing because this speakers can easily used in moderate to large rooms. With some room treatment it can also be used in small rooms. They do not push too much air or create high pressure like multimedia speakers. So bass do not compromise other sound frequencies. Everything sounds crystal clear across the freq range.For most people woofer is not required. They cover lows till 40hz easily. But for people who want to work on bass part very accurately like in back ground score or bass heavy music they may need woofer. And also these speakers needs some volume to give out bass accurately. So people who work on projects for many hours a day, may need accuracy at very low volume to protect their ear, may need woofer separately.Soundstage/Imaging- Imaging is very good and accurate. But placement of the speakers and room is very important to get clear image. Some experiment is required to get it accurate.Setting: There is volume control, room/low freq trim and high freq trim so that we can easily adjust to our room condition.At this price range these are the most analytical monitors. They can also be used as multimedia speakers but you should have high quality sound files which are also be of high grade recording /mastered.Lastly they are huge and heavy. So decide according to room size or working space. You should keep them atleast 2 to 3 feet away from wall. Two speakers should be separated atleast 5 feet and you should sit in a position which creates equilateral triangle.So if you are into professional sound mixing this will do the job.NOTE: CANNOT BE USED FOR TV's as they are too much revealing which makes sound unpleasant.

My old computer speakers by Insigna started to have distortion after 3 years of good us. So I was without speakers for a few months and just used my laptop. I needed speakers for my desktop so I started my research. I narrowed it down to Bose Companion Series II and Creative Giga Works Series II. After reading all the reviews on the Creative Giga work and being on a tight budget, I decided to take a chance. These Creative Giga works pack a huge bang for the buck. Let me not forget to mention the clear crisp quality of sound and deep bass. Also they provide 3 pots for volume, treble and bass. Im satisfied with my purchase and the price.
