I was looking for a cheap alternative to upgrade my sound on an Asrock deskmini A300 with a 3400G AMD APU because it has pretty bad and old low end realtek chip for sound that cannot do 5.1 surround analog speakers set up , it also cracks , pops and has a horrible sound. Finally i took the plunge and bought this little gem. Once you plug it in to an usb port windows 10 will automatically will install the driver , no fuzz , no hassle just go to the speaker settings and select your speakers set up , 2.1 , 5.1 , 7.1 and voila it just works ! the sound chip is a C-Media Oxigen chip of a very good quality , sounds are very good , crisp , clean , clear and loud on my Logitech 5.1 analog speaker set up. Highly recommend it !

Didn’t want hole in the wall so these were perfect

This headset has great sound and is easy to setup and use. It is a bit bulky and can make your ears a little hot during long gaming sessions. Also, others have told me that I sound a bit muffled in chat sessions. Given all of that, I would still buy these again.

Didn't see a lot of reviews about using these in conjunction with the Roku Smart Soundbar as rear surrounds. I was worried that the front sound would just play out of the rears which I didn't want. I took a chance and wanted to assure you that it DOES play only the surround sound out of them when used as rear speakers.When you first plug them in you press the home button on the remote for 5 seconds and the setup screen appears. You select to add these wireless speakers and it asks you how you will be using them... as front audio or rear audio. Since I have the smart soundbar I selected the rear option. Then a sound plays out of one and it asks you where the sound is coming from, left or right. Select the correct one and then it plays sound from the other speaker. Select that one and you are done.The front sound is barely audible from the rears but the surround effects come through clearly. There are sound settings to increase or decrease the volume of the surround.... Low, Normal, Loud, and Loudest. I liked it best on loud but you might have a different preference. On movies the surround is more pronounced. Also on some TV shows. Things like the news you can't hear them.So just wanted to add this as I didn't see many reviews about it. This is a true 5.1 system after you add the subwoofer. Which I did. I suppose for audiophiles the perfect system would have an equalizer to really dial it in for your room but for me it is perfect. No more speaker cords, finally.

I chose these mainly to replace sony bookshelfs for home theater surround. The sonys were o.k. if placed high enough[otherwise the weak highs are drowned out] . . the yamahas offer better positioning,good response and a sealed enclosure. It may be too soon for a full review, but listening to these for home theater surround produces a very natural effect with my bic center and polk tsi100s..they may not outperform jbl, but for their size/limitations/ the comparable sound is very high quality..and a very good value for their intended use. Add on-the bic center is a dv52clr...there are bigger[and priceyer] ones out there, but the goal is to create a balanced soundfield with similar drivers/efficiency...o.k. I'm done..

I purchased these for my laptop, which I generally use in my bedroom, and, since cancelling my cable earlier this year, I've developed an obsession with Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube, but the sound is really poor on my laptop. I've had them for less than 24 hours, but it's clear the sound is much improved. I still prefer the larger screens on my PC and TV, but at least I now have the option to watch a show/movie in bed, and not feel cheated.It was also easy to install--just plug it in--and the price was great. I had considered wireless speakers, but these work and fulfill the purpose, so I feel like I saved a lot of money.

With three Alexa’s in my home I have surround sound. Love it!
