Best way to get exact torque spec & safety wire th
My GSXR1000 motor requires 14.5 ft lbs of torque on the Oil Filter. The Hex head on the K&N KN-138 allows that to be performed nicely. Also you can easily safety wire the filter, so it won't back off causing you a DNF.

You'll be missing parts
I'm joining with a lot of other people here where I didn't receive the new cover I needed for my car's cabin air filter. The filter itself is great, however my stock filter was all 1 part including the cover that snaps in place to close the duct system. I had to contact K&N directly to get this part as Amazon could not help. It's something K&N even admits is a problem.

Fits perfectly on a 2005 SV650
I love having the nut on it because the way the filter is located on my bike it's a really hard angle to tighten it by hand, so I use the nut to snug it with a wrench but I don't go crazy with it. I pretty much bottom it out with my hand and then give it about a 1/4 turn with a wrench. It also makes it super easy to get the filter off, provided you didn't go 200 pound gorilla on it when you screwed the filter on.

K&N immer gut wie gewohnt
Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem K&N Filter.Ich habe meinen a3 mit 1.8tfsi jetzt auf ca 400psHochgezüchtet und habe mit dem Filter wesentliche Vorteile gemerkt ( habe jetzt ein Cold Air intake )Bevor ich den Umbau auf 400 ps gemacht habe ,habe ich den filter eingebaut. Habe 15 ps mehr bekommen also von 160 auf 175 laut PrüfstandSEHR ZU empfehlen

Filter mach einen sehr wertigen Eindruck. Habe ihn jetzt schon mehrere Wochen im Einsatz. Da ich sehr viel fotografiere, kann ich mir jetzt ein Urteil erlauben. Ich kann diesen Filter ohne Einschränkungen empfehlen.

Exact K&N Filter
Same price as the K&N store but prime credit card saved me 5%!Just called K&N today to ask more details on their filter and was told their HP and PS oil filters are made with the same filter element media. Rubber and steel are upgraded on the HP series and HP has the quickremoval nut on the end.Their also stated at K&N has never stated the micron level of the filter media and any information from others is not correct. Also, not all HP filters have the same flow rate but some testing by others showthat the flow rate can be higher on some models.The element media is resin strengthened to keep the media structure strong for the life of the filter.Not sure if anyone else as this but we know who does right?I almost returned this filter because the packaging did not say Performance Gold but just Performance.K&N stated that they still have the old packaging stock out there but everything else about the filter is the same. There may not be a mileage sticker in the old packaging as well but again everything else is the same.
