Having used a Hero 4 for the past few years I was amazed at the features of this camera for a fraction of the price. Very easy to use, touch screen on the back is great and the functions are pretty simple to work through. Video quality in 4K or 1080 is great, image stabilization works well and I love the four camera angles from narrow to extra wide. The distortion calibration feature I have not seen on any other camera. It nearly elimnates the fish eye effect you get when taking pics in extra wide angle. Of course if you want the effect you can turn it off. Also love the red filter for underwater although I have not had a chance to use it yet. There are so many features on this camera that are not on my Hero 4 its hard to believe. Have not had it long but everything seems to work fine and the pic and video quality is great. Download app on your phone if you want to control the camera from your phone. Don't think you can get more bang for your buck if you want an affordable action cam.

I wanted to purchase a GoPro for quite a while, but the price always gave me cold feet. So last summer, I found this on Prime Day, researched the product, and decided to give it a try- skeptically expecting it to be somewhat inferior to the GoPro. After half a year of use, this camera has absolutely blown me away.The 4K videos are impeccable (mostly what I have used it for), and the photo quality is equally impressive. In addition to the camera, you get a plethora of accessories for mounting the camera- so many that I haven't even used half of them yet. Additionally, the wrist remote AND the option to download an app to control your camera via your phone is awesome and allows for some fun, creative photography options. The ONLY complaint I have is that the batteries drain extremely fast in a cold climate (i.e. Minnesota winters), but all electronics have that downfall so I can't really list that as a negative. In summary, if you want a GoPro-esque camera, do yourself a favor and buy this. Comparing it with some of my friends that own GoPros, the only thing that creates the difference in price is the brandname.

UPDATE: We've had this camera for a few weeks now and everything was going great... until it started moving on its own. We have since unplugged "George" out of paranoia.This camera has honestly been super fun to have in our living room. We can see what our dogs are up to when we're not there and we have been using it to mildly annoy each other. The app that it uses is pretty intuitive and has a fair amount of features - including a siren mode! I also really like that you can control the camera's movement from the app.

This is my first action camera so I can't give decent technical comparisons with other models (you know the one). However, I have to say that I'm very impressed with the quality both in video and photo modes. Battery life was about an hour when shooting in 4K, which I guess is not bad.The accessories that come with it are really useful, particularly the remote control. There seem to be enough various connectors to cope with just about every eventuality, although I did end up purchasing some extra items, like a head harness and selfie pole.The camera works well inside the waterproof case, although bear in mind that it won't pick up much sound like this - you need to remove the case and attach the 1/4" camera mount adapter to the base of the camera if you want to record sound with it.The Wi-Fi link to the phone app works well (as does the app). For the price, I think it's a great little camera, and better accessorised than most. But keep in mind that you will probably still end up having to buy some additional bits & pieces for it.

 I bought the camera to take videos of the animals visiting our woods at night. Eventually, I was able to obtain high quality of videos of raccoons, possums, skunks, deer, and foxes. The problem was the length of the videos dropped from 20 seconds to two seconds as the battery level dropped slightly. I contacted Browning and learned that night videos required the use of lithium batteries. If that had been in the instructions, I would not have wasted much time and many batteries. If that had been in the instructions, I would have given the product a five star review.I had a good comparison because I started with a camera costing half as much and which proved to be defective. I returned it and gave it a one star rating. Then the seller said I would be given a new camera, if I first raised the rating to five stars. I only right honest reviews.Update: I have used the camera for two weeks with the six lithium batteries. They still have lots of charge. The camera has been taking great night videos in subfreezing temperature.

I purchased my first Amcrest camera last year to monitor my home while I was away on travel. I set up the motion detection to send me a text message and an image of whatever had caused the motion detection. Every evening, it sent me a message and photo of an inside lamp (on a timer) turning on and turning off, allowing me to monitor that it was working. Whenever I was in doubt, I could look around the room to confirm that all was well. This was a great success and provided me peace of mind.This year, I purchased a second camera (they are so inexpensive). This one was was configured to detect any motion outside the back door. Also, by rotating the camera, I could view the back yard or part of the room view seen by the first camera. Now I can detect anyone trying a backdoor entry, see if it snowed, if tree limbs came down, or that the room is secure (if the first camera should fail). I love it.I also want to thank Nelson and the other Amcrest Technical support that were always available and extremely helpful in assisting me in setting up these versatile video cameras.

I still can't believe the quality, and features of this camera, and how one Earth it can be done at such a bargain price!I have used this camera for both underwater (snorkeling) and also on a guitar headstock to video a live performance of my band! I'm stunned by the quality, and flexibility of this camera. I particularly love the fact that it comes with a built in view-screen, and remote control.Honestly, this camera is so good that I am thinking about buying one for each member of my band now! Imagine the fun we would have mixing 6-camera videos!My ONLY gripe is that I wish there was a larger capacity battery so I could have extended battery time. It would also be nice if I could get extended videos, rather than have to patch together ~4GB segments (and to be fair, that may be just how I formatted it, and to also be fair, that's no different to my last GoPro).I'm watching out for this company to see what they come up with next - cos I will probably want one of whatever it might be!! :)Very satisfied customer.
