I love these things! Over the years I've had many earbud-type phones as well over-the-ear compact headphones -- all worked well but is certain situations you want to keep your ears (and eyes) open to what's going on around you. In my case, I'm a bike rider and ride in a community where there are many bikers like myself on the trails in addition to vehicle traffic and other distractions.I didn't realize until recently there was such a thing as "bone conduction headphones". I looked into this and found there were many choices available with many features and a wide price range. What I was looking for is something with decent sound and easy to operate, and nothing that would make me look like a walking advertisement or call attention to whatever it was surrounding my ears. These I found were the perfect choice. I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised with the sound quality and yet, still in tune with the conversations around me. I only wish I knew about these a few years ago (if they were available) in my working days. I liked them so much I ordered a pair for my wife. She also liked them and told a few of her friends, who in turn ordered a pair for themselves.For plane rides, maybe the earbuds will still be my preferred choice but for bike rides (and maybe even at the dentist office), these bone conduction headphones will be my clear choice.
