5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific Mic! Check my photos to use properly
This mic is great especially for the low price. I prefer to use this over my Rode VideoMic Pro because it’s smaller and you don’t have to power it by a battery and turn it on/off. Sound quality is actually really good for a passive mic as long as your camera preamps are ok. I’m using a Sony a7iii and it sounds great. Go to YouTube and view my channel CJ Rich to hear this mic in action. Make sure you lock the red cable in the grooves on the screw attachment to hold the mic steady otherwise it will bounce so bad it will make an audible sound rendering the audio useless.

Amcrest comes through again....Great PoE Outdoor C
This is a review of the IP8M-T2499EW-28MM PoE Outdoor camera from Amcrest. Up until now I have used mostly IP2M-841W cameras in my home video network and have been super pleased with them, even after mounting several of them outside under the eave. I have all my cameras feeding into an Amcrest NV4108-HS network recorder and am able to access all feeds on handheld devices thru the Amcrest View Pro app. When I saw the new 8Mp 4K Ultra HD camera I decided I would replace one of my older cameras with it and see if it was worth the increase in price. The camera was purchased thru Amazon and as always arrived in a day or 2 in perfect shape. Unboxing was quick and easy…Amcrest does a fantastic job of packing. I realized that since I was mounting the camera under an eave, I would need to make my own mount to get it further away from the ceiling – otherwise the ceiling would always be in the picture and the IR would reflect at night. I may still need to get it slightly further away as I think the night video is being affected by reflections. See the pics for the mounting adapter I made. About 24 sec in to the video is where the IR turns on and you can see the reflections/haze from the ceiling. I will have to work on that to improve the night video.I used the Quick Start Guide and was up and running in several minutes, setting up the camera initially through the Amcrest View Pro app on my phone. I did initially try and use the QR code but for some reason it wouldn’t scan. Not sure if that was an app issue or an issue with the camera. After inputting the S/N manually, I was able to install the camera quickly and without issues. Also, this is a POE camera, BUT there is actually a 12VDC power input cable that you can use if you want to. It is NOT labeled and there is nothing in either the manual or the Quick Start Guide about it, but is there and it works. I was actually able to use an old Netgear power supply to run it on!Initial impressions – I love the wide angle aspect of this camera compared to my old ones, I can see much more of what I need to. Also because of the increased resolution, the zoom is greatly improved. Wish I had a 4K screen to view it on, but that will come later! The one downside is that it takes slightly longer to load the video from this camera into my app when I am viewing from my phone. So I love the easy setup, love the daytime still pics and the video but the jury is still out on the night time video. I will update when I get a chance to change the mounting or angle the camera down a bit away from the ceiling.Overall, I am as pleased with this Amcrest camera as I have been with all my previous Amcrest cameras! Highly recommend it.

Fun and Fabulous!
I am really amazed by all the features of this little camera:1. The camera is completely encased in a cute silicone wrap which will help protect it when dropped. The camera is small and light weight, just right for kid’s hands.2. You can take stills and video. The LCD screen interface is easy to use, but it is best to read the instructions first and acquaint yourself with the various buttons. The camera buttons have multiple abilities and you indicate your preferred action via a short or long click. You might want to make yourself a little cheat sheet so you can remember! It will be best for an adult to learn to use the camera first so they can teach the child how to navigate the menu and the buttons.3. The picture quality is highest outdoors, in natural light. The photos I took inside in lamp light were not great. Video mode will record the visual and the audio. In the still mode, you have a variety of cool and cute special effects to pick from including color filters, outline effect, negative effect, distortions, reflections, props to superimpose over the face of your subject, and multiple fun frames. Really so much fun and potential to be creative.4. The kit comes with everything you need except a case: the camera, a micro SD card, a USB charging cord, a USB thumb-drive type micro card reader, and an adjustable neck strap.5. Before you this to your child: 1. Charge the camera. 2. Learn and explore how to use the camera so you can teach your child how to use it. Read the instructions but also refer back to the listing page on Amazon and scroll down because there are some tips on there that are not clear in the instructions, such as how to zoom-in (you long-hold the up or down button to pick your zoom) or time delay (you press the left button to pick the amount of time delay you want). Tip: teach them to hold the camera still when they depress the shutter button otherwise the photos will not be sharp.6. The camera also includes some cute educational type games and has the ability to play music. If you want to use the music feature, you need to put some mp3’s on the SD card. These features are accessed on the home screen. Note: there is no headphone jack or Bluetooth capability.7. In the settings menu, you can select the level of quality you want for the videos. The video format is AVI which cannot be read by a Mac so Mac owners will need to download an app to convert to mp4 for viewing on those computers.8. The value you get for the cost of this camera is amazing. I looked at some of the other cameras for kids on Amazon and chose to purchase another one of these for my granddaughter (a pink one) due to the impressive and fun features. You do not need to spend more money. I recommend this for 2nd to 4th graders. This one is blue but this seller has a pink one on another listing—same camera but the exterior is a bit different.

Fast and reliable
I bought this for my Blink camera system. I have purchased other capacities in the past. They are well built, fast and reliable so far.

Love the watch feature
This camera is great! Love the watch feature, I do a lot of kayak fishing and the watch comes in handy all the time. Easy interface to use, kinda wish the scroll abilities were a little easier to navigate but once you have everything set right you shouldn’t have to deal with that any more. Overall a great camera for the price also the accessories are interchangeable with other platforms.

Small, compact with excellent performance
We needed to put a camera in our building elevator. We chose this camera and it did not disappoint. Incredibly easy to set up and install. 15 minutes after arrival we had it up and running. The motion detection works perfectly and we get clean pictures every time someone enters or leave the elevator. The customer service was also excellent with quick, clear and useful responses to my questions.

Software update really helps
Being the gadget freak that I am, I must say I really love this video security system. Who would have thought 20 or 30 years ago that you could have a tiny camera like Arlo that you can mount almost anywhere and be able to monitor what's going on inside and outside your home?I installed my camera yesterday, and things went relatively smoothly. I say relatively, because if you have a house with a flat front and no porch, and you want to monitor the front door, It's difficult to find a spot to mount the camera where it won't be in easy reach of thieves. I eventually decided on a spot about 9 feet off the ground and pointed at my front door, steps and driveway. Much to my surprise, about five minutes after I had come inside from installing Arlo, I received an alert on my cell phone. So I clicked on the email I was sent and, lo and behold, the video showed a package sitting on my front steps. The video also showed a man halfway down my driveway walking away. But that made me realize the amount of lag the camera has. Why didn't the video show the man walking up my driveway and leaving the package?Yes, my camera is mounted higher than the recommended 7 feet high, and my motion-detection sensitivity is set at the default 80 percent. Maybe I need to move it up a notch?Meanwhile, I had a lot of trouble trying to figure out the scheduling feature of the software. I want my camera able to record 24/7, but I want to be able to easily turn it off if I'm out mowing the lawn or washing my car. I found the software to be very confusing. But I today went to Google Play on my cell phone and noticed that there was an update available for the Arlo app. So I downloaded it and am happy to say that the app is a lot easier to navigate now.In all, Arlo is a great little camera. I get a lot of packages delivered to my house, and the delivery people never ring my doorbell. So whether I'm at home or away, I will always be able to see what's at the front door. I'm going to buy a couple more of these cameras for inside the house.Update: I have had this Arlo system for several weeks now and I am happy with it. Yes, it's not perfect and has several faults, but nothing is perfect ... everybody will find something to complain about. What I want to know is why is an add-on camera so expensive? Purchasing an add-on camera is only $4 less than it cost me for a single camera with the base station. So, for only $4 more, should I buy another camera with a base station, and keep the base station as a spare? Seems to me that $75 would be a more fair price to charge for an add-on camera. At that price I'd buy several more.

Excellent Monitor, Super Simple Setup, Great for M

Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about this monitor. It was so simple to setup: just plug in both the camera unit and the monitor display unit, and within seconds, you’ve got picture and sound! No wifi, internet, or Bluetooth setup needed. I’m using mine to monitor an elderly relative with dementia. A quick glance at the monitor assures me she’s safe and sound. And other than explaining that the new camera unit is monitoring the temperature in her room (which it is!), she has no clue that I can see and hear everything she’s doing. The camera also silently moves, so she hasn’t yet even noticed me adjusting the camera as she moves about the room. Some features of this monitor:-- The 5-inch screen is a nice size. I can glance at it from across the room to make sure everything is OK. Depending on the lighting in the room, the color can be somewhat washed out, but I’m not watching this screen for entertainment. It also captures night vision with infrared light.-- The monitor has a built in rechargeable battery. So I leave it plugged in downstairs, but I can easily unplug it and move it about as I move about.-- The range of connectivity is sufficient. I have my monitor in my downstairs kitchen, while the camera is in an upstairs bedroom at the other end of the house.-- You can set the monitor to always be on, or to go dark and display only when the camera picks up activity sounds in the room. And there are 3 sensitivity levels of sound sensing to choose from – if you don’t want the display lighting up too often for minor sounds.-- The monitor unit, when the display is on, will transmit any sound it is picking up. You can turn that feature off, or pick from one of 5 volume levels.-- There are 5 brightness settings for the monitor display.-- There is a “talk” button on the monitor that allows you to talk directly through the camera into the room.-- You can move the camera from the monitor, and it’s left-to-right range is quite remarkable, covering nearly the entire room (355 degrees). Up and down, the camera has a 120-degree range.-- The camera has a temperature sensor that displays right on the monitor. You can also set low- and high-temperature alarms, if desired. This is especially helpful for me as my relative’s room is upstairs, which can get hotter in the summer sun than the rest of the house.-- You can choose to remotely play one of 8 lullabies, or continuously loop through all 8.-- There is an optional feeding timer you can set to ring in 30, 60, or 90 minutes, or in 2, 3, 4, or 5 hours.-- You can pair the monitor with up to 3 additional cameras (purchased separately). And there is a button on the face of the monitor to cycle through the displays for each paired camera.-- You can select among 8 languages for the monitor display.See the video for a quick demo of me adjusting the camera to “look” around the room. This is a quality monitor – especially easy to setup right out of the box.

Very good quality camera & monitor. Decent App. Qu
The media could not be loaded.
As a parent who has went through a very traumatic experience with my first child, when baby monitors were quite basic, I cannot stress the importance of having a good monitor. This comes with the camera, monitor with 5” screen, 2 X USB-A to Micro-USB cables, 2 X UK USB Mains Adapters, Reset Tool, Camera Mounting Plate, Camera Mounting Accessories and Instructions. On powering both the camera and monitor up, they instantly pair with each other and the camera starts transmitting video and sound to the monitor and I have to say that the screen on the monitor is pretty good. It’s sharp, with a decent amount of detail. It is also testament to the quality of the camera. With the monitor, you can rotate and angle the direction of the camera in, offering quite a bit of flexibility. The menu layout is easy enough to navigate around and there a good range of options and functions. You have temperature, humidity, motion detection, two-way communication, feeding reminder, etc. On top of all that there are lullabies and white noise, together with a colour changing night light. If you’ve put a Micro-SD card into the unit, then video and photos can be stored to this or there’s an option for cloud based storage but as a price. You can set parameters for temperature and humidity and should these be breached, then an alarm will sound. It has crying and noise detection built in as well. This works extremely well out of the box. Now, in order to pair with your phone, you do need to download the “CloudEdge” App. Setting the phone up, as it is using Wi-Fi, does require setting up an account within the app and logging into your Wi-Fi within it. It’s all fairly straightforward, you do need to push the pairing button on the rear of the camera to put it in pairing mode. Importantly, it does only work with 2.4G , so if you have dual or tri-band, you may have to switch those off temporarily in order pair it with the App/Mobile device. You can “share” the camera with other people, as long as they also have the app, meaning other family/household members can have access and you can add an additional camera. One thing I forgot to mention is that you can have it set to record constantly or triggered by motion. For baby monitoring, personally I would go for constant and in that instance would opt for a larger memory card due to the amount of rewriting – the max size is 128Gb. There does not seem to be a looping system built in, meaning that when full, you’ll need to delete any footage you don’t want or just format it to delete all.Although this is focused around being a baby monitor, you could add and use a 2nd camera as a security camera somewhere else in the home.I have reviewed a similarly priced system to this one and must say that this one is superior in its performance and overall quality. There are cheaper ones available but I cannot say whether they offer the same or similar quality and/or performance.I’m unable to give a view on the medium to long-term reliability.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.
