No setup required, just plug it in and it's ready to rock. I used it to do overhead painting classes, I have it plugged into my laptop and attached to the bottom of a cabinet above my canvas. The cord is nice and long....

Was very surprised when I received the lights. I immediately installed under my kitchen cabinets and waited patiently until it got dark so I could turn them on. They worked wonderfully and was able dim the lights for a softer look. I'm very well pleased with this purchase.
