The YI 4K camera is excellent. I was searching for a GoPro alternative and decided to buy this one because I wanted 4K video but wanted to keep the price down. I purchased this one September 2016 in Rose Gold.The video & picture quality is excellent. The accessories are cheap to buy and work perfectly. I purchased the underwater, car, bike and person mounts to go with it.YI Customer service is also exceptional. I dropped the camera on the concrete without a case and cracked the screen. The LCD didn’t break and the camera still worked but just the glass over the LCD was damaged plus the external casing. YI replied to my email the same day. I sent it for repair and they fixed it up for me and sent it back within a week. Amazing.Other plus points…- Expandable memory via micro SD card so you can carry extra storage with you.- Separate battery, so in a few years’ time I can simply swap out the battery for a new one when this one starts to lose charge.Charges using a standard micro USB mobile phone charger.- Bright colour touch screen- The camera is tiny.Photos taken after repair!Note: Nothing to do with the camera but if you are recording in 4K the file sizes get very big. Editing them on a computer needs good software & memory. If you don’t have these then I would make lots of little 4K videos as opposed to 1 hour long epic.

I like that it cane with everything and more as apposed to a gopro it was genuinely available with all the parts...

De eerste GoPro startte en laadde niet op. Zonder problemen heel snel vervangen door Amazon. De nieuwe doet het wel. Leuk ding, moet nog even kijken wat hij allemaal kan. Een ding valt wel op, die batterij is echt snel leeg (1 to 1,5 uur max). Nu moet ik er een bijbestellen, jammer.

Great camera! I highly recommend. I love that it is already waterproof and rugged. I have used it rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, jeeping, and on my bullet bike. So far it has held up to the GoPro name and more.

This camera is a good choice for snorkeling and helps with identity of fish an coral. Keep in mind that video quality is ok but good for price. Having two batteries is a plus as well as attachments that are included. The only negative was that could not find app for Wi-Fi feature.

This was a really good bargain, as it is an earlier model than the current. It was easy to set up with a 64 GB SD card, and I got about 1.5 hours out of the battery while outdoors on bicycle and hiking ventures. It also interfaces easily with Quik and QuickRemote software which ran on both my Android and iPhone mobile phones. I did find the Android interface to be a bit more GoPro friendly than that of the iPhone. My only issue was with the wind noise while riding into the wind on a bicycle. I wish there was a way to filter that out a bit. Perhaps the newer GoPro cameras have that facility? Don't know, but this camera was about half the price of the newer model. The provided hardware for mounting was also simple to use and protective of the camera.

Completely blown away by my YI 4k action camera. I've been shooting video with DSLRs for years so I'm not a novice.The touchscreen is responsive. The user interface takes minutes to learn, and the video quality is superb. I on board mic is also quite good all things considered.I use the camera using flat color setting and apply color correction in post production for my YouTube biking videos.
