The Akaso camera is an amazing product at a great price! I got it only 2 days prior to a trip, so didn't have much time to get used to it. We put it on a chest harness and got awesome video and pics while zip-lining, then immediately (uh-oh) went to hit the rapids on kayaks...we added the water-proof case and went to the head-mount and yup, you guessed it...we should have added floatation :( The camera is somewhere on the bottom of the Lower Mountain Fork River maybe near some large boulders and a low-hanging branch lol! I have placed an order for a replacement camera and you can bet we'll download pics between excursions...my girl-friend says there's a good possibility that she'll wear it from now on...

The camera quality is excellent. With a proper background colors and clarity are superb.Recommended resolution 1280x720p. I'm using USB 2.0 ports and any higher resolution just gets choppy. But for still photos or very low frame rates it can go up to 2304 x 1536 in resolution.Auto focus on movement, any movement, within about half a second of the movement.Auto white balance with an expected bright background like a white wall or whiteboard. If you use dark curtains in will make your face overblown in brightness. Works well in low lighting and with studio lights.Focus & white balance are controlled internally in the camera. I'm using Linux and everything just works automatically. I'm happy with this camera… only I didn't care for having to install a white backdrop with a whiteboard for good white balance.

 This is such a cool under water camera and video recorder for kids. I bought this for my son's for our vacations we go on and for when we go to our local beach. They love trying to explore the sea creatures. It has so many great features and qualities. It can be used up to 16.5 feet under water. It is equipped with a 2.8 screen and Full HD 1080P underwater digital camera with video resolution and 16MP images. It has 8X Digital zoom which brings you awesome and incredible pictures. Designed for swimming or snorkeling and other water sports. It is very easy to use. It charges through USB which is very convenient. The battery life is outstanding and long lasting. Great quality and price overall. I would definately recommend this underwater camera for kids. Very pleased!

I installed this at a second home thinking it would be nice to see the sunsets and all. I installed it after charging the battery per the instructions and it worked fine for as long as I was there (about 5 days) but once I arrived back at home (600 miles away) the camera shows offline and I have no way to check it. It's tied in with a remote weather station which is still working so I know the problem isn't network/internet, the only thing I can conclude is that the solar panel did not keep the battery charged.Jasmin from customer service contacted me and followed through with every question, she offered some ideas and got the camera back working remotely with changes to my app settings.This camera is everything I hoped for and it is so refreshing to work with a company that stands behind its product and is proactive with support.

Although this is meant to be used for the outdoors, I have it inside my house. I was in need of a wireless camera because I didn't want the cord hanging down when installed close to the ceiling. This is PERFECT! Just do the initial charge and the battery will last for quite some time. I've only had it a few weeks, but it still has more than 75% battery life. Granted, I don't have this recording everything that comes in contact with the camera, so if you do, the battery may not last as long. The picture quality is amazing and I like that I have the option of only recording people who enter my home. That way, my animals don't trigger the motion sensor and waste the battery life and/or SD storage. Overall great camera at an amazing price! Just buy it already!

Bought this for little one's 3rd birthday and he loves using it. The picture quality isn't brilliant but admittedly my 3 year old doesn't exactly hold it still which doesn't help. The look of the camera is really fun, which I think most kids will love, and for the price it's well worth it. My son is too young to use all the functions but there are frames etc as well which is good fun and games too (though I haven't looked at these).Good practice camera for kids, seems fairly robust and has lots of fun features. My only criticism is that I wish the lanyard included wasn't thin rope but a proper lanyard, as I think that would be safer for younger children. (I do like that the camera can detach from the lanyard though.)

I just went through the debate between the 40D and XSi. I finally chose the 40D since it is supposed to be built to last, and the recent $200 rebate from Canon placed the cost ($950 body only) on par with the XSi ($800 body only) at the time of this review. Up until now, I have been using an XT and in only 2 years (and about 6000 photos) the auto focus (AF) LEDs began burning out. One is completely gone and the others have dimmed considerable. I have not found anyone else with this problem so it could be that I had a bad XT. Never the less, the XSi has similar dot type AF LEDs and I was worried that an investment in the XSi would lead to another camera with a limited lifetime (I depend on these LEDs a lot).Although I liked the compactness and lightweight of the XT, little did I realize how convenient the 40D is for fast switching of settings. I love this! I won't go into all the positives/negatives of the 40D as it has been beaten to death by now. However, I will mention a few minor pros and cons that are either seldom mentioned, or not mentioned at all.Pros:1. Much better AF LEDs - more visible squares instead of little dots, hopefully longer lasting.2. More multi-controls and generally setup more user friendly.Cons:1. Auto WB is a little off - especially with incandescent lighting and AUTO setting (seemed more accurate on my XT)2. Thin male pins for the remote connector. Male means that there are pins instead of sockets. The sockets are on the switch itself (RS-80N3 or equivalent). This means if the thin pins bend, the camera gets hurt instead of the cheaper switch. I wish Canon had stuck to the 1/8" stereo jack as that solution was much more rugged and allowed the wire to rotate (the wire on the RS-80N3/equivalent point out in the direction of the lens only).Hope this helps!

Easy to pair. East to install. Easy to configure. Easy to add to multiple devices. Responsive to commands from phone.One minor improvement for the installation would be to make the base just a little bit wider to make it easier to install the mounting screws. As it is, the screws are slightly behind the camera body which makes the screwdriver contact the screw at a slight angle. Not a big deal, but could be improved.Speaker is surprisingly loud and clear, which is good.Picture quality is excellent in HD mode.Zoom is not very good, but somewhat expected since it's digital only. It would be nice if it had optical zoom, but of course that would add a lot of cost.Solar charging seems to work well and battery life has been excellent so far.Still learning things about this camera but, overall, very happy with this camera. Very good value for the money.
