I have a big problem with external noises that jolt my concentration and distract me from my task at hand. I depend on this sound machine to get work done at the computer, to aid me in focusing on whatever I am reading, and to stabilize my sense of well-being. I have used other sound relaxation devices and nothing else compares in quality and flexibility. I recently encountered an issue with my sound machine and I had to contact customer service. I imagined my worst case scenarios coming to life... endless computer menus which would unceremoniously kick me into leaving a message in voice mail. This would be the technological equivalent of sending my words into a void and hoping for a prompt response. Or reaching a phone operator who does customer service and operates out of Siberia, but who can "understand my concern".So, I dialed the Campbell, CA number up and reached THE PERSON that I actually needed to speak to, and not his "learn on-the-job at your expense" representative. I got everything resolved after an immediate tech support walk through, on the spot. And it was amazing to realize that I wouldn't need to double and triple check to ensure that I would receive (in my case) the replacement sound machine I needed. This was in contrasts to many companies that took almost a couple of weeks - "processing" must be some arduous work.At any rate, this is an indispensable sound machine with incomparable customer service and support. I purchased an Ecotones Duet unit (predecessor to the Sound + Sleep) from Amazon in February, 2010. After 17 months of working perfectly, the unit malfunctioned, producing only a buzzing sound. I was amazed at the level of customer support I received.I sent an email to the manufacturer and received a reply from a person within a couple hours. He listed a procedure I could try following to fix the problem, and promised a prompt replacement if necessary. The fix didn't work, so I sent the info he requested for getting a replacement, and within an hour I received a notice that the replacement unit had been shipped by priority mail.This is a great product and a great company.

I found this sleep machine easy to use and great features. Only thing I found weird was all the water sounds kinda sound alike and the beach or surf didnt sound like "my" beach...other than that I like it.

My boyfriend tends to snore and this really blocks the noise! The ambient setting makes the sound louder when the noise next to it is louder which is what helps. We have a shelf in our headboard so I have it in the middle so it can somewhat be between me and the noise source. :)I do wish it had a few more sounds and the water sounds (brook, rainfall, ocean) don't sound quite right but that may be because of the ambiance and it may be necessary to block sound properly.*****UPDATE***** on 01/15/13Last week, we had a problem with our Sound Machine (it is almost 2 years old at this point). It was working and then started to emit a loud buzzing noise after about an hour that you could only stop by unplugging the unit so I e-mailed the company and they were very apologetic and thought that the memory card was bad so shipped out a new one. We installed it last night and it's working perfectly again (and I finally got a good noght's sleep again ;-)). If you have any issues, make sure you contact the company as they may be able to fix it.What awesome customer service!!! :-)
