Long play tracks do not wake you up like the 20 se
I would give this 20 stars if I could! Long play tracks do not wake you up like the 20 second cheaper units. City is lame, spa is lamer, but the other settings rock! Adaptive can be as annoying as the sudden background noise it tries to cover, but I just do not use it. Now we both sleep through the night and the darned trash trucks that come by at 6:30 am

Answer to most of my sleep problems.
This machine has helped me sleep through the night. The various setting are great, especially the water noises. It really covers up the noises of the garbage men who come quite early, my teenage night-owl children walking around the house, using the bathroom, etc., and other environmental noises. The only reasons it doesn't get 5 stars: 1) it doesn't help diminish/drown out the sounds of my husbands weird sleep noises (more percussive clicks than snores); 2) The ocean setting has some odd dock-side noises like the clanging of masts and seagulls. Those wake me up sometimes as I'm drifting off, so I now use the waterfall, rain, and brook/stream settings.

great sleep aid
Fantastic . I play the thunderstorm setting and sleep more soundly . Best sound of any other device like this . Rain and thunder with some wind at times thrown in . Price seems to have come down from when I 1st saw them for around $200 . When I have to get up in mid nite my dogs don't wake up anymore I think it even helps them sleep more sound once asleep , but don't buy it for your dog's they will sleep all day when you leave for work buy it for yourself if you like these sort of things .

I use this every night on the option 2 fan setting. It's perfect and very effective at obscuring any noise. Lots of sound options and volume range is good.

The Ecotones Sound + Sleep machine is fantastic. I use it to drown out the sound of neighborhood lawn mowers, and plan to use it in the winter to reduce the amount of outside noise from snowblowers. It is very calming and conducive to working from home, particularly the rain setting. The company behind this unit is top notch and their customer service department is extremely responsive. Totally recommend!
