Great camera. GoPro's products are legendary in the action cam world. But what makes this new Hero5 stand out is the telemetry data. As far as I know only the Hero 5 and Hero 5 Black offer this option. The camera is super easy to use, charges quickly using the included USB-C cable, uses a standard Micro-SD card (I recommend a Lexar high-performance one at least 32GB), comes with a mount and works with ALL of the GoPro mount products both from GP and third party.My only complaint is battery life, between the GPS for telemetry, wifi to aim and check the views, the battery itself don't last as long as I'd like. I can get one good bike ride in before its near dead. I found that not using the wifi connection helps, get the camera aimed (easier when on your helmet if you do via wifi) then turn it off.Getting telemetry onto your videos is a little daunting, as it requires you to go out of your way to do a bunch of extra steps before popping the video into GoPro Studio, but its worth it to see the speed, direction, path etc overlayed on your video. My recommendation to get from Quik to Studio is to do the following... copy over your video segments, don't let the software do it for you. Aim the Quik and Studio software to the same location. Manually import the segments into Quik, double click one and turn on all the telemetry items you want to use, then it uses that setting for everything else. Trim that clip (CMD-T on Mac), it will overlay the telemetry data and offer a Save button, add on -telem or something at the end and save it, repeating this for each clip. THEN import the new -telem clips into Studio and lay them into order, add music etc. Just my preference. Quik offers only 2 means to export otherwise, FaceBook and YouTube.I am loving the Superview super wide angle, it's my most favorite, and yes it does distort the view a bit but it makes more of the scene fit on screen and gives a sense of speed to bike rides etc.Beyond that, it offers all the wonderful stuff you expect from a GoPro, rear touch screen, voice control (awesome for turning on and off recordings and shutting off the camera when done while its helmet mounted), works with all the mounts, takes top notch video including 4K for those who want to get the ultra high quality video. I find personally that the 1080p is more then enough for my needs and can do 60fps as well.It's not super heavy, so when mounted you don't notice it, and it doesn't want to move when you hit bumps if you use a good tight mounting kit. Overall, well worth the money, and for GoPro fans, its a no brainer.I use this along with several Sessions to record car, bike and motorcycle rides. And I wear it with the chesty on walks/hikes. Another great GoPro product with tons of features, making it a no brainer if you are upgrading or getting a new GoPro for the first time and want all the bells and whistles.

Image quality is great! Remote completely damaged after using it in the beach.Edit: Company reached out to me for a replacement and updated their tips to indicate remote isn't waterproof. I appreciate the good customer service.

My initial impression is excellent although I have not had much time using it yet. Finding information on the web site is difficult and the included manual is also too sparse, which is the reason I docked 1 star.Revision: As I needed to have a couple of questions answered,I had to contact customer care and was quite pleased with a fast and helpful reply. With this good customer service, I will up my rating to a full 5 stars. We are going to really enjoy this on our trips. We mounted in the front window with a RAM mount suction cup.

Purchased for a 9yr old.."not cool enough, looks too kiddie"

This is my second GoPro Hero 5 Black, I had to send back the first after about the third week with it, after doing the new "update" available for the camera, version 01.55 My gopro would not turn on, I knew the battery had charged but switched the batter to another wasabi power battery that was fully charged and nothing, still did not power on. only after I google my problem I learned that GoPro!!! secretly through the "UPDATE!!" disables the cameras ability to accept 3RD PARTY BATTERIES!! when your doing the update it DOES NOT!!! give you any notice no warning to let you know before you proceed!!!! giving you the option in case you MAY want and like to use other batteries besides GOPRO'S!!!! so that you can make your own decision. NO, once you do that update you can only use GORPO'S batteries and some people want to be able to use 3rd party batteries so be WARNED!!!! I sent my back and some fussing and got another sent back to me. there are videos on youtube warning about this update and on GOPRO own site, just look for the forums

I bought this camera for my motorcycle. It had all accessories to mount to handlebars or helmet. Very easy to set up. Love the remote feature. Like having the app feature to save pics to my phone and sharing pictures. For the price it is a great go pro alternative. Love having extra battery.

Ok its a really nice camera! Just got it today. But my main concern is I cannot find ANY online owners information, specifically on the TOP button and how it is suppose to work with the beeps and blinking lights. The little leaflet that comes with it doesn't go into operation details, so I 'm just kinda pushing buttons to see what I get. Next issue is where do I get a REAL YI 4k waterproof case, not the cheapo knockoffs everyone is selling?
