Great 40 x 60 scope.
Great spotting scope for backpacking. The image is very clear and it’s compact. It’s nice that it comes with the cellphone camera adapter, but haven’t used that much.

Just for fun we pointed it towards Jupiter and saw
Check everything before you take the scope out for the first time. My tripod came with a broken piece, so I had to exchange it for a new one (painless process). The scope itself is exactly what I was looking for. Took it out over the weekend with my wife and couldn't believe how clear the moon was, even at low magnification. Just for fun we pointed it towards Jupiter and saw four of its moons! She and I are just getting in to astronomy, so while this scope isn't going to make out any deep-space objects it absolutely meets our needs. Looking forward to spotting all the planets and maybe some meteor showers. All in all I was very happy with my purchase. Thank you sellers.

Great Product!!! Can’t beat the quality for the p
I use this tri-pod for my spotting scope while target shooting and it’s SO NICE TO HAVE!!! For the money I couldn’t have gotten better. It is a bit shaky when it’s windy, but then I just set it down to the lowest adjustment and shoot prone.

No spotter? No problem.
The media could not be loaded.
This device is fantastic. I took this to Thunder Valley Precision in Ohio and spent a day on the range with it. I forgot my spotting scope, so I had to borrow a friend's cheap Barska spotting scope and even cheaper tripod. Mounting the camera on the scope was easy and once I got the app loaded, connecting to the camera was likewise simple. With the app recording, I could send a round and immediately play the video back and see where the round went. If you're on your own with no one to act as spotter, this playback feature is invaluable.I have one of the universal cell phone mounting devices. This device is superior in nearly every way. The weight of the phone doesn't rotate the eyepiece if you want landscape video. Attaching the device is easier. I don't have to remove my phone case to use it. I can put the spotting scope 10 feet away and keep it away from the back blast from the compensator. The list goes on.There are some things I would improve, mostly in the app. I would love if the same app as their downrange camera would work with this device. I would like the ability to stop & play back a video with one touch. The videos are stored in some subfolder of my phone that I haven't discovered. A "share to YouTube" option would be nice (I had to share to Google Photos, download, edit, and then upload for this review). But honestly, these are improvements rather than complaints.

Excellent for my spotting scope
This item is pretty good able to use it with chairs, using it with a sporting scope. Still very still with settings for stopping.

Exceeded expectations
This expended my expectations in every way. It folds up smaller than thought which was a huge bonus and holds my spotting scope well without any problems. This is lightweight and strong overall construction. I’m excited to use it and pack it up mountains and see how it does.

Works good.
I purchased this for my spotting scope. Most of my son's shooting competitions are during the windy season and I needed something sturdy... this was great! It's a little on the bulky side but works great.

Never disappointed in Vortex Products
Works well up to 100 yards. Don't expect a spotting scope. I had planned to use this to assist in zeroing but it is not that powerful. I use it for patrol to see people and what they are doing from across large parking lots. Works outstanding for aforementioned use. Built rugged and sturdy.

Excellent for the money, and the spotting scope pr
Lots of reviews already for this, and I won't bother with a ton of details. For the money, it's the best scope I've used, ever. It's not perfect, but for my 8 year old son, it's a wonder.PROS:Easy set up, light, very portable, excellent images. Excellent brightness of even faint, distant objects. This thing really does produce very bright, vivid images. Moons of Jupiter? You bet. Bands of Saturn? Sure, under ideal viewing conditions. And the moon, wow. Super crisp and vivid - and you do need the moon filter for that, it really should be included (mentioned as a CON, below). Color is really great, too...there's enough light gathered that colors are surprisingly distinct. I'm having a lot of fun with it, and my boy is, too - again, very good viewing for the money.CONS:Breathing hard on the thing, much less working the focuser roughly, will throw you off target. Steady hands, go slowly, light touches. The tripod is adequate, but even the slightest wobble or position shift will require re-finding your target. As long as the tripod is on a solid base (concrete, firm deck, whatever), it's fine. In the grass? Not so good. The spotting scope is not completely useless, but close. If you're very precise lining up the dots, and holding your head steady, and have perfect vision, it WILL get a single star somewhere in the viewing field. Larger objects are easier to find. But be prepared to spend 5 minutes fussing with it every time you change your target. Still, it gets the job done if you're very careful and precise with it.There's quite a bit of play in the adjustment knobs, so fine tuning something into the center of the field takes a steady hand. Treat the knobs as you would a kitchen timer or barbecue grill flame knob, and you'll do better. Turn a knob a bit past your desired position until you take up the "slack", then turn back the direction you want to go while there's good tension on the knob. Works much better that way. With a DSLR attached to the optional camera mount, you get very impressive photos...but again, you need a very steady hand. I use the remote to snap the shutter, because just touching the camera body to press the shutter button can throw my image off.The moon filter is necessary, really, but you have to buy it separately [Celestron Telescope Moon Filter - 1-1/4" 94119-A].
