The noise cancelling works well which was very important to me.

Not so much noise cancelling as claimed. But… I listen to music when I go to sleep, wife has accepted it but never liked it. This is perfect. Very comfy too.

I purchased and received this item a few days ago from Amazon, and I have to say that so far I've been pleased with it. The best thing about it is the options - there are 10 different noise variations to choose from, and I would expect most people will find several that they like. The options to control the pitch and set a sleep timer are also nice. One of the best features is the adaptive noise option, which means the device automatically detects other ambient noise in the room and adjusts its volume to compensate. So if you live in a noisy environment (big city apartment for instance), it can help drown out the erratic noise that might otherwise break your sleep. I haven't used this option extensively but I've tested it and it seems to work pretty well.I think the sounds are pleasant and are appropriately varied. Personally I like the rainfall and brook options the best. I've also been using the ocean, waterfall and fireplace periodically. The other sounds I find less appealing, but I would imagine others might like them more than myself. If you're used to city sounds for instance, you might like the city setting if you're traveling and staying in a place that might otherwise be too quiet. Yoga fans might like the meditative setting, and if you're just looking for a white noise machine then the white noise setting is perfectly fine. The meadow would be nice except that I find the constantly chirping crickets to be a little much for me. Others might feel differently.My main criticism is that I wish the sound quality were a little better. Overall it isn't bad for a device this size, but it just doesn't measure up to the high end alarm clock radio devices on the market (like the Bose for instance). Then again, you aren't shelling out hundreds of dollars for this. Still, I wish the speakers had a little more punch.My only other criticism is that this device doesn't double as an alarm clock. It would have been nice to have a clock display and and alarm function - then I wouldn't have had to buy a separate device for waking up in the morning (and it would free up some space on my end table). It's not that big of a deal since it still does what it was designed to do. I just think that it would appeal to a broader audience if this could double as an alarm clock. Oh well, maybe they'll incorporate that concept into the next model.In summary, this is a fine device and a good purchase if you want some soothing ambient noise for your room. It works well as a relaxation device and a noise canceller. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I felt the speaker quality could be slightly better, and it has no alarm clock function. I would give it 4 and a half stars if I could. Regardless, I think most people would be happy with this product.

Love these headphones. I’ve never had a noise cancelling pair before but live in NYC and the noise at night is becoming too much to the point where I can’t sleep - I pop these on before I get in bed and they block out everything. One of my favorite features is the battery life - I’ve used these on back to back flights for over 15 hours and they never run out on me!
