Does the job for my trail cam
Wanted a tripod for my trail cam so it could be off the ground to video our hedgehog village. The hedgehogs were forever knocking the camera over when it was on the ground, so the tripod has now stopped this. Its sturdy for the height I use it at, which is quite low, but I think it would still be just as sturdy higher.

as advertised and a great value

Takes pretty good underwater pics and video, better than my sister's compact Olympus (mid range price). The video in the lower qualities is a little jumpy, speeds up and slows down over time, just shooting small clips is fine. The battery only lasts 20 minutes if used all at one time. Also, the camera gets pretty warm if shooting video for that 20 minutes not underwater. The video at 2.7 and 4 k are good as far as that goes. The pictures are pretty good underwater and better out of water. I bought the camera for taking under water pics and videos while snorkeling. There is no zoom so I take pictures at full resolution and then crop them. I also do auto levels for a little sunlight correction, although it does pretty good in low light. The menu system is easy to figure out. It is a little harder to do with the case on and using the case buttons but not bad. The touch screen when out of the case is easy to use and works great. What I don't like about it is that it doesn't remember the time and date. I have to set that every time I change the battery. It does remember the picture resolution settings you make and video quality.I am very satisfied over all. I have recommended it to friends already.

The sticky pad sucks:: UPDATE-Akaso read my review
I received the V50 Pro and used it handheld. It shot great videos and pictures.I followed all the directions for mounting to my motorcycle helmet. First time on the highway the sticky pad CME off and the lanyard broke. I was able to see it in my rear view mirror on the highway just as it was run over by the car behind me. Very disappointed.I published this review after losing my previous camera on its first real use. Sophie, from Akaso contacted me, apologized for the situation and sent a brand new V50.I was amazed that they would do this.I purchased a chin mount for my motorcycle helmet and a top mount for my ski helmet. This is truly an amazing camera. I able to get the very best resolution for all my videos. I have taken a number of falls while skiing but the V50 did a superb job of documenting it all. It never stopped or broke during the whole day of skiing.I have some very impressive videos of me falling and sometimes skiing.I used it once on my motorcycle and the remote device worked flawlessly. I can not wait until Spring time to do some riding and videoing with my new V50.Great company to do what they did. Obviously, they are reading the reviews and taking care of their customers. Great Job Akaso. I would highly recommend them.

Love the upgrades!!!
Where do we start?!? We previously purchased an older model with two cameras for our 1 & 3yr old. The range was good, picture was ok, but was better than all of the other brands for monitors. But, this newer updated model is ridiculously better!! They have addressed a few concerns I had with the previous model1) DC charging was changed to micro USB port. So much better and universal. Do not have to worry about finding an outdated cord to keep the system charged. It is also longer so we are not limited to how high we can place the camera.2) Button removal on outside of monitor. We would constantly hit the music lullaby button when picking up the unit which would wake up our little ones or would annoy them. Thy has been replace my by the shortcut button on the unit.3) The clarity of the camera is night and day compared to the older unit. The picture is sharp and extremely smooth frame per second with movement.4) There are a ton of new features like bottle feeding schedule, better sound detection, temp alarm setting you can customize to each room, and a sleep mode for the monitor. There is also a sleep button embedded on top of the monitor to cut the screen off.In summary, we love the upgrades to the new system! This is phenomenal and deserves every accolade available.Thank you DB POWER!

drop $800 on a device that does decent photos and
This is my first GoPro so I am somewhat new to the 'family'. To those that have had several generations of the device I regret not jumping on board sooner. I know a number of people thinking about the camera wonder why to go with this device versus relying on a cellular phone. To me the answer was simple, drop $800 on a device that does decent photos and videos or spend $400 on something that is designed to do great photos and videos. Truthfully it is compact enough to slip in a jeans pocket and not even realize it is there.I went with this device due to the fact that it did have replaceable memory and a replaceable battery. When traveling I don't want to feel like I need to stop my activity simply to plug into a PC. Having the wireless sync capability is great, as is the ability to control shots remotely over wi-fi.So what really settled me into the device is the durability. As a father of two children I wanted to empower them to be creative and to record their play. My daughter was the first one to throw the camera to the concrete, a day later my son would do the same. Even from forceful drops to concrete I had minimal scratching to the plastic housing, perhaps a dozen or so grains of sand.I did use the menu to disable the 'beep' feature, that to me was one annoyance, but quickly remedied.

Significant Update!
I've had the opportunity to use the Brave 7 for about a week. I did some blogging, biking and motorcycle riding with it. Right away I noticed the increased weight and durability of the camera compared to the other AKASO models that I own. Some weight is due to the 15% larger battery and rest is improved construction. All of the usual and common features are included, along with an improved remote. That being said those features and setting are vastly improved for a variety of lighting and motion. Voice control takes some practice, but does work. One welcomed feature is the selectable viewing angles, from 70 to 170 degrees...insane! But, my absolute favorite feature is the front facing screen! This is great for selfie pics and video and solo video blogging. The screens can be flipped back and forth with the push of a button. Lastly, the driving mode allows for excellent dashcam use for a car or motorcycle. Great exposure and iso setting allow for smooth fluid recording. There is also a pretty stable phone app for control and live viewing via the camera's built-in WIFI. The app can also connect you to a community for sharing, contests, offers and other information.I have several budget action cams and you truly get what you pay for. The Brave 7 is a very good value and alternative to higher priced multi-use cams. It comes with 2 batteries and all of the accessories you'll need for most activities. Highly recommend!

For Casual users not taking things to the limit...
Loads of accessories for the money. I only wanted a hand-held float to go swimming/diving with, but I found this entire accessory pack was about the price of a single float. Includes just about everything you could ever want and more for a casual user of the camera.Alloys used for thumb-screws is not the best quality, and certainly not as good as original go-pro accessories. I found there was rusting to the screw used to hold the yellow hand held float a few days after going diving. A bit of WD40 and a cloth cleaned the rust up, however still a little disappointed. I might recommend you give any metal a coat of WD40 or 3-in-1 oil before exposing it to the elements, just to help protect it.Not being a hardcore user taking my go-pro to the limits, I never really got to test the robustness of mounts, and the plastic used. If quality of the plastic is anything like quality of metal used in the screws, it is probably ok for casual use, but not as strong as go-pro originals. I would suggest that if you intend on attaching your camera to the outside of a ferrarri around Nurburgring, or to your mountainbike down a challenging downhill course then you might want to look elsewhere. For casual use it was absolutely perfect, and saved me a fortune compared to original GoPro products and as such is recommended.

Decent cam for the price a ease of set up.
So, don't get me wrong. It's a good camera for the money, and I do like it over all. But there are a couple things. It was fairly simple to set up, and came with all of the hardware to install. It seems to be built well. I've noticed it seems to miss things here and there. It misses when a vehicle pulls into the driveway, and if ut does pick it up, it may miss one person as they walk inside, and get the second. Honestly, I am still working on the settings. I don't care much for the app, I believe it could offer more. The true wireless is a great bonus, although battery life doesn't last as long as I had hoped but, it's managable. Can upgrade to solar charger. My biggest disappointment is the cloud service. Comes with a 7 day trial, which is nice, however, the service is not based on your account, (say if you have 5 or 6 cams one one account) it's priced per camera, which could get pricey each month or so. It does however have the ability to take a SD card. For the price, and now with a wifi extender, it works well. I may even add a couple more if I can get the settings where I need them.I'll update if anything major happens.

Rugby perspectives
I wanted to get some new video footage of my son playing rugby but from his point of view so needed a rough and ready action camera that i wasn't afraid to break. This model came with a hard case that has protected it through quite a few trials so far, including being beaten onto the ground and trodden over with studs and has given some great footage of a rugby players perspective in a colts rugby game.It does comes wityh a few mounts, however i found a chest mount that worked really well for it online and went with that, it was easy to set up as apparently they are all on standard fittings anyway. The footage is clear, even when being ran around a pitch, the only issue i did have was with dirt messing it up, but that was resolved with a quick wipe off during a momentary pause. It gives a really wide angle view of most of the pitch no matter where someone is on the field. It records straight onto an SD card which we just remove and drop onto my PC to play around with so getting the footage is easy and i just recharge the included battery after every session.Simple bog standard action camera with clear footage and easy use, so it fits the bill to a T.
