I gave it 5 stars because of the price and sound quality. If these cost $50 instead of $15 they would get maybe 2 or 3 stars. But with these I apply the 80/20 rule.....at 20% of the price of higher end headphones you still get 80% of the quality. With the 80/20 rule its the other 20% of quality that can really drive the price up :-)Build Quality; Good enough, little cheapy/plasticy. The padded ear pieces are good enough, and the chord is a nice bonus as its thicker (less prone to damage and tangeling). One mark against them is I found the padding to be a little too much, making my ears a little warm after a couple hours. Some headphones have less padding and a more open design.Sound; With brands like Bose and Beats I expect a bias in terms of sound profile (eg. too much hi/lo, too much bass, etc...). With the Sony's, the profile is pretty even from the low to mids to highs. Songs with heavier bass sounded fine, with the bass neither under or over emphasized. In terms of quality there's no noticeable distortion. Nice and clean.If Sony built these with slightly better materials, and added more emphasis to the bass and treble, they could probably sell them for $50+. And, I'm sure they do.

Comfortable, Good dynamic range, Very Happy. Only bad is cord is a bit short. BUT I knew that and use it in the volume control of my Logictech computer audio system. So it works out fine. No built in audio control.

My kid goes through them like crazy so they are great for the price, they lasted about 6mo of use and abuse before one side stopped working so that's a win for me. The wire is a bit more resistant than most. I already got a replacement and hope it at least lasts 6mo too. Believe me 6mo in my son's hands probably equals 6y for anyone else

The bass seems to be overpowered, almost drowning out other sounds, but I couldn't ask for anything better for the price. The more I use them the more I enjoy the adjust-ability of the head piece.

I use these for listening to audio books. It is fine for that. But don't think these are Bose and you will be satisfied if your expectations are realistic.
