Another Great Roxant Product!
I had a chance to use the mini scope this past weekend. I was particularly impressed with the size and visual clarity of such a small scope. Since I own 3 Roxant Grip Scopes, they are obviously my "go to" scopes. But with the size of the mini scope, I can literally carry it in my shirt pocket and use it if an opportunity presents itself. The one drawback is that I wear glasses and you can't really wear them when using the scope. That being said, it's still a great addition to my Roxant collection.

It does exactly what is advertised
The first scope was broken (the mount didn0t work properly), and Amazon promptly sent me a new one.Besides being very sensitive to touch, I think that the scope is very very good in general. Since its the first scope I get, I'm still amazed to see the moons of Jupiter and the 2 red stripes on the planet.I still have many things to see and do with the scope, but so far it does exactly what it advertises

Wonderful Scope
This is a wonderful scope. It had a nice heft to it and a beautiful, smooth finish. The optics are very clear too. The feature I love that no other scope that I also investigated had, is having the focus adjustment wheel on the barrel, kind of like a telescope. The others all had it around the eye-piece and I found this difficult to use. Very happy with this scope.

best telescope ever
best telescope ever. i had it for two years now, and i absolutely love it. it has very solid construction and breaks up in 2 pieces , unlike other telescopes that i had before would for long time to assemble and align. it has great focal length and wide field of view. eyepieces however are pretty junky. you will need to buy better eyepieces for better results. it is great for astroimaging. one thing that they should include with this scope is starsense auto align. it makes very easy to align the scope. other then that GREAT SCOPE . THANK YOU CELESTRON

Great Little Scope with a Big Heart
Let me start by stating that I bought the Nexstar 6SE as a "grab and go" scope only, and that I thought I would continue to use my Meade LX200 GPS 10" (SCT) and my Orion 8" reflector as my "serious" telescopes. This is the smallest aperture scope I've ever used, and I must say that at first I was truly underwhelmed. It was well made, the tripod was sturdy, the weight was great but the optics were really below the level I had come to expect based upon my experiences with my other scopes (I use 2" eyepieces with the other scopes). I checked collimation, and it was out a little, but I dutifully re-collimated and checked again. The difference was truly night and day. It is now the scope I use the most due to it's lower weight, portability, and decent optics. Here are my observations based upon using this scope for the last few months in the west central Arizona area:Optics:Nice, bright, very little coma and very little edge distortion. I must point out that I quickly discarded the 25mm Celestron Plossl eyepiece and went to a 25mm Televue Plossl; an amazing, beautiful difference. I replaced the stock Celestron diagonal with the William Optics 1.25" Durabright coated star diagonal. A scope with this small of an objective demands the best optical path we can give to it. I also use another Televue Plossl in the 15mm size for planetary observing. With the 25mm Televue under average conditions (a little sky glow and some remote mercury vapor lighting in the distance) I could easily discern 4 of Jupiter's moons, 3 bands of Jupiter. With a 15 mm eyepiece, I could see a Cassini division of Saturn's ring.Under ideal conditions, this little scope really shines. Is it up to the level of my Meade 10" LX200 or my Orion 8" reflector? Of course not,but you still get rewarding views none-the-less in a compact, portable and easy to use package.Tripod/Mount:Tripod is sturdy, substantial, and just right for this scope. I don't think I'd want the Nexstar 8SE on this mount, it might be too heavy. The 6SE and 8SE use the same tripod. Tripod settles down quickly, and is not prone to vibrations, etc.The mount has a single arm system which was new to me as I'm used to the Meade two arm system. However, the single arm system for the Nexstar 6SE seems to work very well, and seems quite sturdy. However, I would not want a single arm system for any larger a scope than the 6SE. A negative using the Nexstar is the lack of a manual clutch which means you have to aim the Nexstar using the hand controller. No manual aiming is available. One down side is the short coil cord for the hand controller, and the fact that the hand controller cord rotates as the scope slews, so you've got to watch that it doesn't get wrapped around the scope or you can enable the cord wrap feature in the set up menu.Alignment System:You can tell that this is aimed at novice users or those who aren't too knowledgeable about the night sky. Set up for alignment is the easiest most simple procedure I've ever encountered. Pick three bright objects in the sky, hit "Align" and wham, you're aligned. You can of course do the polar alignment, named star alignment, etc. as is common with Meade and other Celestron instruments if desired. For deep sky or long exposure photography you'll need to polar align and make (or buy) a polar wedge.Database:The database is extensive but not as sophisticated or as wide ranging as the Meade Auto-Star database. However, most users for scopes this size really don't need (or want) the extensive amount of information provided by Meade. They'd be happy with the database provided with the Celestron.Using the Celestron menu system is simple, but as I am used to the Meade system, it took me a while to be comfortable with the Celestron system. Most users would be happy with the Celestron menu system anyway.Power Requirements:I don't know why people don't just go buy one of those remote car starter kits with the integral gel cell battery and cigarette lighter output (as well as battery clamps); take off the battery jumper clamps, and use this as a power source with a car adapter for their scopes. I spent $ 39 on mine, it recharges from 110v, has a cigarette lighter socket, and more than enough juice to run the Nexstar 6SE and the Meade LX10 at the same time all night long. I just took the case apart and removed the wiring for the battery clamps.Final Observations:The 6SE is a great little scope, and is a wonderful entry into SCT telescopes with "go to" capability. With a few minor upgrades (new eyepiece and diagonal) I think the user will be happy using this for years to come, until aperture fever overcomes them. I did add the illuminated reticle right angle finder scope from Celestron to this scope (I am used to a right angle finder scope on my other scopes), but in all fairness it isn't really needed as the red dot finder scope works very well for this Nexstar 6SE.I also added the Celestron GPS module (which is overpriced) for automatic GPS data. For the money you get a great optical platform with lots of capability and something that should give years of pleasurable use.I recommend this little scope.

Nice Mak
I think that this is one of the best 5 inch Maks you can purchase and when you also get the go-to mount it makes this little unit a super bargain. Fine optics and quality OTA. Too bad it does not have decent eyepieces so you can truly appreciate this scope.

Great ROXANT Mini Scope!
The ROXANT pocket scope is an amazing small scope to carry on our hiking trips and RV trips. Actually I keep it in my purse so I have it handy all the time. We had already purchased the ROXANT Grip Scope and are extremely pleased with it. When we received the mini scope we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and clarity. Love this little jewel. Customer service is beyond excellent as well. Thank you so very much for two great products.
