The mobile phone or tablet is held in place by means of a screw cap with small silicone buffers on the inside. With a mobile phone, I wouldn't have any concerns about hanging the tracking tripod upside down somewhere, but with a tablet it's more likely because the gripping force of the holding device may not be sufficient.
