Seems to be ok but it didn't meet expectations
This is an easy to read weather station and I like the pretty ombre colors. For the most part it works well, except for one major and one minor issue. The minor issue is that though it features an auto-adjusting brightness level (one of the main reasons I bought it), I was disappointed to find that in a dark room (I use mine in my bedroom, which I prefer to be totally dark when sleeping), the screen did not dim all the way, and was still on at a low level, which nonetheless put out way too much light. So I've had to switch to manual brightness mode, turning the screen off at bedtime and on in the morning. The major issue was that the automatic atomic time and date setting seemingly did not work at all. I let it sit for at least a week and nothing changed. I tried taking out the batteries and unplugging it several times but it didn't help. I asked questions on the product page hoping someone would help, or the manufacturer would step in, but got nowhere. I even emailed the company and got no answer. The included instruction manual was unclear on whether there was a particular order to power up the main unit and remote sensor. There is an RCC button that you can press and hold to force a connection to the atomic signal, but it didn't do anything. It also said if you entered in the time and date yourself that it would cause the automatic atomic updating to stop. In frustration I finally just entered the time in myself because the unit connects to the atomic signal three times a night at specific times, so I figured if I didn't enter the correct time, it would actually be checking at the wrong times of the night. Nothing updated, so I decided to return it and order a different product, which will be delivered today. Well lo and behold, when I got up this morning, it had finally updated to the correct time and date, and it even knew it's daylight savings time! So it seemed to take four days at least to get the time/date updated. Then later I read that you need to keep it at least 1-2 meters away from computers or tv’s because they interfere with the reception of the atomic signal. Since I’d placed the station right next to my tv, now I know that was probably what caused the non-updating problem. I don't know if anybody else has had this problem or if it's common, but they should be more specific in the manual about how to make sure you do setup right so you don't go through this. I think all the restarting I did just delayed the unit from connecting to the atomic signal.
