Simple and it works
I bought one of the fancy ones that can supposedly find all types of items and tell you what they are before you dig them up, for instance it supposedly can tell a dime from a nickel and a quarter from a penny. It has tones for each of these, etc. I found that it not only cannot do this but it beeps and bops at all kinds of things that don't even exist. I ran tests with known items that I placed on the ground. I sent it back and got this cheap one. It works and doesn't require any special knowledge. Intuitive and easy to use for just finding metal. It wont tell you what kind, but it doesn't give false positives either, like the other one. If all you want is to find metal, regardless of the type, then this is your thing.
