Surprisingly good.
It is said that quality and especially good optics have to cost a lot. That may also be true. However, the question you have to ask yourself is whether you have to pay a lot more money for the last bit of edge sharpness or clarity with the usual top brands? Gosky 12x55 High Definition Monocular gives a clear answer to this question: NO The one in China is generally me very skeptical about the products manufactured. In this case, however, I was pleasantly surprised. I cannot say anything bad about the image quality of the optics or the technical quality of the other components. Everything was very nicely built and looks solid. The image sharpness (also at the edge of the image) and the color reproduction are very good. The same applies to the image clarity thanks to the large front lens. The focus adjustment works very smoothly, not too light and not too heavy. The overall impression is impeccable, the weight is of course slightly higher than many other products, which is understandably due to the larger front lens and therefore the slightly larger housing. Yet it is not unpleasant. If you prefer lighter devices, you should choose one with a smaller front lens and accept a correspondingly darker image. The included hand strap is a small weak point. Fixing this in such a way that it does not come loose by itself, but at the same time is easy to adjust and does not get in the way of the end of the strap, is an impossibility. There is certainly potential for improvement here. Since the monocular also comes with a padded carrying case, I don't use the strap. Attaching the phone is quite easy and provides a secure grip. This also positively surprised me and even excited my wife. I have yet to test how well the Gosky 12x55 High Definition Monocular performs outdoors and whether it remains waterproof for a long period of time.
