From enhancing school projects to discovering ear mites on a cat
This mini digital microscope was a gift to our 11 year old aspiring biologist. She opened it with delight and immediately began experimenting with it on surfaces, snowflakes, and any cell she could sample. She took it to school to put it to the test against our science lab microscopes with pond water, and the display made it much easier for all to see the tardigrades and nematodes. It's now on our school's wish list for next year's budget.
She also got to use it on her friend's cat to determine the cause of an ear infection with aural hematoma. Using the microscope, she found yeast, dried blood, and ear mites in a sample obtained from the ear. The friend's family sent the pictures to the vet and received an antibiotic and a scheduled surgery to fix the problem, saving a separate diagnostic visit.
Overall I would highly recommend this for school instruction or just as a tool for curious young minds.
