This camera backpack is better than a regular backpack but still room for improvement.
Over the years I have accumulated a few accessories for my camera but never really got myself a nice bag to keep everything together. I would just through everything into a regular backpack and off I went. However, I took a chance in damaging my equipment as there was nothing really preventing the stuff from banging into each other. So, I got this bag hoping to keep my stuff organized and safe at the same time. This bag helped me in that regard, but not without some minor flaws.
The bag was bigger than I expected, practically the same size as a regular standard backpack. It looks and feels like a quality bag when you hold it in your hands. The shoulder straps are nicely padded and very comfortable. The manufacturers present this as a fully modular & customizable bag but there are 2 flaps inside the bag that are stitched to the bag which limits the customization. There is a bit of assembly needed, nothing overly complicated, just a few Velcro flaps that need to be attached but the instructions don’t really help you with this and you are left to figure it out by yourself.
The middle part of the bag is where you can customize the bag with the Velcro panels. I have never been a big fan of these panels, but they seem to be an industry standard. After spending a lot of time placing and replacing the Velcro panels, I was not able to find a configuration that would keep my camera from absolutely not move or bounce around in the bag. That being said, it's still better than the regular backpack I was using before.
There are many different compartments on the bag, some of which I did not even notice at first glance. There is one on the right bottom side of the bag that holds a little pouch with an elastic draw sting. I use this to hold the under side of my telescopic tripod to prevent it from slipping out of the straps. Another compartment was found on the back bottom (where it would go against your back). This compartment has a waterproof cover for the bag. There's a laptop compartment that will hold a small laptop. Anything with a screen bigger than 15.6” will not fit. There are several other compartments and mesh pockets to store all your accessories.
I don’t have much experience with other camera bags so it’s hard for me to say how it compares to other bags on the market. I do wish there was a way to lock the zippers together to prevent any accidental opening and having your stuff fall out.
Overall, it's a nice bag.
