The WingHome 1080P 12M Trail Camera is an amazing product, and we have really enjoyed using it. There are certainly strengths and weaknesses though, so this may or may not be appropriate for you depending on your needs and what you value. Here are our experiences:WEAKNESSES:* This camera is not the best for wildlife photography, as claimed in the marketing literature. The results are often grainy and the wide-angle lens creates significant warping to the photograph. This works great for capturing a larger area for surveillance, but most of the photographs are not keepers.* The motion capture and camera attributes work best for objects that are about 15 feet away. Anything more distant often fails to trigger the motion detector and lack details when they are captured.* Any light in the background will blow out the photographs during the night. For example, a porch light left on in the background will result in either no photographs or very poor results. The night mode works best in the dark with no lights present, which limits the use for home security.STRENGTHS:* The physical build of this camera is exceptional. It looks great and the camouflage causes it to all but disappear when mounted on a tree. Even during several days of severe rainstorms, this unit performed admirably without problems. The mounting straps are equally impressive.* The battery life is incredible – 12 AA batteries will last for months without the need to change them out. There is also an attractiveness to not having to recharge this unit, so a battery swap can take place effortlessly in the field.* There is a generous amount of settings in the menu of the camera. Time-lapse capabilities and rolling footage are particularly appreciated. With the rolling footage set, older files will be deleted to make room for newer photographs, so one could set this up in the field and not have to worry about losing recent data even if left unattended for weeks.CONCLUSION:The WingHome Trail camera is a remarkable device for wildlife surveillance and was obviously engineered with such a use case in mind. It is not as appropriate for a home security device, but could be used in limited circumstances. But the battery life, build quality, and functionality of this camera truly win us over. Highly recommended.

This is the first surveillance we have ever used (aside from the old grainy baby cam). The quality of the picture is amazing. Even the night vision is clear. It is easy to adjust the camera from the phone so toggle.The reason I gave 4 stars is the lack of a manual for using recording functions and the sd card. This is likely due to my lack of tech savvy, but I have to believe there are others out there like me. I have watched some of the Amcrest instructional videos, but haven’t found ones that give me the details I want.

Cameras were fairly easy to install. You'll need slightly larger holes for the cable than you would for Ethernet connected cameras. I used mastic tape to safely weatherproof the outdoor connections and then some plastic cable channeling to conceal and protect the wires outside on the siding.Everything was simple and straightforward with the installation, including setting up the app on my phone. I did have to purchase one longer cable for the furthest camera, but that was more in the way I installed it than a deficiency of the kit.The recording device does have a lot of features and functionality I've yet to explore. There are many settings to allow infinite possibilities and finite control over what is being recorded. I'm still using the defaults until I have the time to delve into the manual more deeply. The cameras do provide high quality video feeds, even in low light conditions.I've set up a separate monitor above my computer monitors on my desk for the camera feeds. I'm able to see what's going on around the house whenever I'm at my desk.

I didn't know much I needed this thing until after I got it. My intention was to use it for stabilizing my cell phone while taking still pics. However, I have found so many other uses for it that I'm thinking about getting 2-3 more. I needed to mount my new Blink mini camera in a temporary location for extra surveillance and this thing worked perfectly. It mounts to practically anything, even a door overhang or a stairway bannister or rail. This thing is versatile, flexible & useful. Great purchase.

Really sharp quality videos that seems to be second to none in the home surveillance department. Combined with their optional subscription add on app, you can't go wrong with Kasa. I also love the 2-way speaker feature that allows you to verbally communicate with anyone in your home, garage or business.

I am a fan of google products, but paying for cloud storage was not acceptable to me. Especially having to pay a lot for the camera itself.Amcrest does the job well enough and has local storage accessible from the application. At a much cheaper price! Picture quality is clear enough and sound plays through fairly well.So far 3 issues have come up.1 - when installing/connecting, the camera does not connect simply over wifi if you're on a 5ghz network. I had to manually switch my phone to the 2.4ghz for it to successfully connect. That may have caused an issue to someone else less experienced.2 - I wish there was a simpler way to disable the camera without having to unplug it all the time. Denying access or anything like that is just too much work.3 - as a result of unplugging and replugging, I did hear the plug spark once when being plugged in. After that I was unable to get push notifications on any device. The culprit seemed to be the microSD card. Needed to format and remove/add device again.Other than that, camera does the job well.
