Worth more than what you pay
This lens absolutely blew me away. I have the Canon f/1.2L and used to have the f/1.4 and simply got this to see if the STM version was an improvement from the original nifty fifty. The lens now has a metal mount, which gives it an all better look and a bit more sturdiness in the hand. It is still pretty "plasticky", but you're paying $125 for it, what more do you want? Performance wise I can 100% guarantee you will see little to no difference when compared to the f/1.4, definitely not a $200 difference! The only difference is that you get not even half a stop more of light. If you're teetering on whether to get the f/1.4 or this lens. Get this lens. It may not look as pretty or aesthetically pleasing as the f/1.4, but you will get the same results, and they are stunning. I won't go as far to say it's better than 1.2L, but I don't think you'll find you need any need to upgrade, whatsoever, unless you have an occupation that calls to. Don't forget to perform micro adjustments with your lenses, this back focused so I had to adjust it to -5.Update 6/26/18: I have had this lens for 2 years now and still stand by everything I said above! Because this lens is so light I always have it in my bag and a lot of the time, on my camera. Crazy versatile and still sharp 2 years later.

Perfect canon EF 70-200 F/2.8 IS USM
Each and every time I mount this lens on my 1DS mark II camera, I'm falling in love with Photography again. This Lens is super fast auto focus and deliver sharp and crispy images quality even at wide open F/2.8 the IS functioning is all about for my handheld shooting on location without tripod, it works effectively and reliable. I can compare and rate this lens almost perfect like my Canon 85mm F/1.2L but 70-200 IS USM is faster autofocus. With the zoom lens like this shooting on Manual mode is my favorite cause I can make the most beautiful pictures out of this lens.It wasn't true as some previous review said there is a problem with many lenses with serial number of UT08XX or earlier. Honestly! Mine is UT04XX but it perfect and I will keep it till my last breath.

Consistent, color and flatness throughout.
I Love K&F Concept. I own a lot of their stuff. The seller delivered this in just a couple days. This 100mm x 150mm "Hard" GND filter is amazing. It’s a very clear, smooth piece of nice quality glass, the color is exactly grey, no blue, green or magenta. The shading is very evenly deposited. Fits perfectly in my NiSi filter holder. Much more fair price than NiSi but same quality. Very happy, will be buying more.

Love the upgrade, with the exception of a few stra
Lets get straight to the point. First off, bravo to Canon for providing an updated version of its notorious 50mm 1.8 line. The most noticeable, and notable upgrade to this lens is the build quality itself. With a new metal lens mount, new plastic type on the outer barrel, a 7 blade aperture, and an STM motor, this lens is a no brainer when compared to its predecessor, the 50mm f1.8 II. Especially when they both sit at an MSRP of $125. If you really need the extra stops on the f1.4 and don't mind the price premium, go for it. If you have or plan on getting the f1.2L, then this will serve a great backup on your spare body. If you want an exceptionally performing piece of glass at an entry level price point, this is the lens for you. Don't even take a second look at the 50mm f1.8II.Pros:7 blade aperture makes for smoother bokeh over the older 5 blade aperture in its predecessor the f1.8II. No more pentagonal bokeh.1.8 is plenty quick and adaptable to many lighting conditions, great DOF50mm focal length is highly regarded as a great learning lens for new amateur photographersSTM motor is CONSIDERABLY quieter than the f1.8II and is faster, and more accurate than ever before. It also contributes to less focus huntingBuild quality is fantastic, especially with the new metal mount and plastic types usedRelocation of the focus ring towards the middle of the lens is much more ergonomicCompetitive, and considerable price pointCons:-Not really a con, but the STM motor is an electronic focus motor that is linked to the focus ring. Meaning, you can not manipulate the focus unless the lens is attached to a camera and is powered. Not too big a deal for me.-For an upgrade, I would have expected new optical elements for this lens, but for the price, I can't complain-As quiet as the STM motor is, it is still noticeable when filming using the in camera mic.Overall, a great buy.

Better than expected!
Decided to try this lens out and ordered it on Sunday afternoon around 3pm and it was delivered at 8pm the same day. Already looking good! Well packaged and Big Mike's Electronics added a 7 page typewritten FAQ and instruction sheet. Looking better. I've used T-Mount lenses in the past, so it was easy to assemble the camera mount to the lens. I chose to not install the 2X converter at this time (more about that later). I mounted the lens to my camera (Canon EOS R6 mirrorless) and set the camera menu to allow picture taking with no lens attached (as this lens is totally manual with no electronic contacts the camera doesn't know its there--you need to do this with any fully manual lens, not just this one). Turned the camera on and voila--it worked. As the minimum focusing distance with a 500mm lens is around 35 feet, I couldn't really take many photos in the house, and it was already dark outside. So I had to wait until this morning to really try it out. Finally got a chance to take some photos (through my window). I mounted it on my tripod--this is a 500mm lens, it magnifies camera/hand shake tremendously, use a tripod!. Focused on some things down the street, made some photos (attached). Sat down to write this review. If you are used to auto-focus lenses with an aperture that lets you focus wide open and automatically stops down when you take the photo you are going to have to learn new ways of working. Focus is manual. If your camera allows for Live View focusing on the back screen, use that, and magnify it if you can. If you want to work at f/8 (the maximum aperture on this lens) you are all set. If you want to stop down for more depth of field there are two steps after focusing. First note that there are two adjustable rings on the lens. One sets the aperture (F/16 in the attached photo) and the other (marked O/C for Open or Closed) actually adjusts the aperture. Set it to Open to focus wide open letting in as much light as it can. Then twist it to Closed to actually stop down to the desired aperture before taking the photo.About the 2x converter. I have not tried that yet as any 2x will lose two stops of light, making the lens a 1000mm f/16 lens. Need a really bright day or high ISO for that. I will test that another day. My issue with the converter, before using it, is that you need to remove the camera T-mount adapter from the lens and attach it to the converter and then attach the converter to the lens. That's a lot to go through if you are out in the field and it requires the use of a very small screwdriver for the three setscrews that hold it all together. If you want to be able to use the converter and take it on and off more quickly, I would suggest getting a second t-mount adapter for your camera so both the lens and the converter have it permanently attached. Then you just need to unscrew the lens from the adapter and screw the converter onto the lens.Bottom line, a good value for the cost. Not quite the image quality of a Canon 500mm lens. And no image stabilization or auto-focus. But the Canon 500mm lens sells for $9,000. For the number of times I will need a long lens like this, I can accept the image quality and get a photo that I otherwise wouldn't get.

Got any ideas?
Like this concept quite a bit. Purchased this for my wife, but having trouble keeping the lens clear of fog, and even when it is, you really can't see past your hands.

Works as described.
Functions perfectly on an EOS M50 Mk2 using the EOS mount 50mm f/2 lense.

It needs to be longer.
Love the concept. But it’s just a tad too short to be able to manipulate the appropriate angle to real execute the position needed to effectively get the mount to perform.
