This is a wonderful item. The optics are clear, it has a good zoom range and isnot so heavy that you cannot hold it by hand. On teh contrary, it doesn't move as much as a lighter one. Although a little on the long side, the heft makes it hold steady on your hand. I bought it for the tripod feature, clarity and magnification, but I haven't had the need to use it with a tripod. The tripod it comes with is too small, but since I own several camera tripods I thought that I would use it with them. It has not been needed. I can carry it on my car in case I need to watch birds or animals and it stays in my sun-room to watch birds, ducks, airplanes, anhingas and vultures. It is a good neighborhood surveillance item also. Some petty thieves have opened cars and stolen wallets and WE are on alert. I have recommended it to my neighbors so they can keep watch on suspicious intruders.

The built in IR illuminator is bright enough to be able to view about 100', which is pretty impressive. I can get crystal clear views at night.ONVIF setup is straightforward. RTSP setup was as well, but the RTSP feed does not require a password, so this is a potential security issue. Edit: There is a setting to turn on or off password requirement. The default is OFF. This should really default to ON.I use Synology Surveillance Station for all of my cameras. SS does not support this camera natively, but works with ONVIF or RTSP. I couldn't get audio out (to camera) to work with SS, but this is not a camera issue as I could get it working with the JideTech app. Two-way audio is really only one way at a time. You have to manually switch between talk and listen. Audio input was pretty good.PTZ function is slow and shaky.G.726 audio doesn't work. Only static.Direct link to camera via HTTP works with modern browsers. Finally.Support is good, but slow turn-around. This is to be expected from China. This camera is not listed on their website.I have several cameras from JideTech and each one uses a different app and setup is different on each. This should not be the case. Perhaps the development team on each was totally different (as in different companies). This is not good if you want to build name recognition.The camera is POE, but comes with a standard 12V power supply. The cable is bulked up by a dongle for Ethernet, power, and reset. This makes the feed-through hole bigger than it needs to be. I wish camera manufacturers would lean this. Why pay extra for a POE camera if you aren't going to power it that way. You don't need a 12 V input. You don't need a reset button on the end of the cable either. Bury it in the camera.I have been moving away from PTZ cameras lately, so this was more of an impulse purchase. Maybe a little too much money for what you get (or what you will use).I haven't played with the motion detection feature yet, but it puts a yellow box around the motion that is detected. This looks like it could be useful.

I am relatively new to the surveillance market. After doing some research I settled on testing a couple of brands, Amcrest being one. I am thoroughly impressed with the IP8M-T2499EW-28MM.BUILD QUALITYOne of the most impressive parts of this line of Amcrest cameras is the build quality. It has a heavy metal construction and all of the components have clearly been precisely manufactured. The box comes with everything you need to make sure that your camera is safely installed.INTERFACEThe modern Amcrest interface really shines on this product. The preview mode allows for crisp and clear playback on what the camera is looking at. I have seen another product that does not do this, so it is a nice advantage to Amcrest. The rich set of available features are very easy to edit and you can also tune your video quality quite easily to help it match up to the environment it is in. The camera also has such a strong feature set that an NVR would not be required due to its built-in functionality.VIDEOThe video quality on this camera is very high. It handles a mix of lighting well where it was installed, which is sometime quite uneven at various times during the day. Details from a variety of observation lengths get picked up. This is a massive improvement over the cameras that came with my security system.AUDIOHaving a microphone gives this a big leg up on the competition. Although the sound is a little tinny, having audio at all is a huge advantage.POWERMy camera is powered by PoE. While in standalone live preview mode, I have noted that the camera draws between 4.6-5.8W.SUMMARYI am very happy with this product! I was planning on going with a different vendor based on prior research I have done, but I think I will be sticking with Amcrest going forward as I find the IP8M-T2499EW-28MM to be very compelling.

This is my impression of the “PTZ POE HD 5MP Security IP Camera 4X Zoom H.265 Waterproof ONVIF Surveillance Built in Two Ways Audio Support IR Night Vision Auto Tracking and SD Card Slot”The camera arrived on time and was securely packed with no damage from shipping. I had wanted a ceiling mount but could not find what I wanted in my price range for my first POE PTZ camera. This camera is to replace two fixed-view cameras that had been in use for several years. Wind from the manufacture was very helpful answering all my questions and sent a POE switch to replace a POE switch that I had purchased but was not appropriate for this camera. The printed instructions were confusing, however, with Wind’s directions I was able to get it up and running the first try on my cell phone using the CamHiPro software. I was really happy with the daytime image and using the 4x optical zoom. The 5mp was a great improvement over my old cameras. Night vision is also good using the color option. I have not tried to install software on my PC yet as I am still exploring options available on my cell phone.Sine I wanted a ceiling mount I was able to come up with a fastening method using a piece of bottom rail of white vinyl PVC railing (about 2½”x 3”) in a vertical position attached to truss member of overhang. See photo. As mounted I get a full 360° pan. Cable is in the vertical PVC, an end cap was then silicone to keep out moisture.Audio is not the best, noise when moving camera, also concerned that speaker doesn’t seem protected from moisture. We get lots of snow in wintertime, concerned moving parts of camera may freeze-up. So far I really like the camera, zoom in and out is continuous and in focus, pan and tilt is in slow individual movements – would like them to be continuous also. Happy with Wind and his prompt responses, will be looking at JideTech in the future for greater optical zoom.

1st of all, this product is super easy to set up. The design is smart and the interface is very user friendly. Especially, the wireless signal is reliable and can communicate around all the devices inside 3 level house and outside my yard without any issues.The price is great and I have re-ordered 4 more cameras after a month from this same vendor to support the full capacity (totally 8 cameras). Since I use the motion-detect function, the inside 1TB HD is still not full and keeps recording the new event from 8 cameras. Also, I am very satisfied with the night vision and AI motion detection with this wireless surveillance camera.BTW, their technical support is great. I was asking for the web interface Apps which is none-support by this product, but they still responded me immediately and explain to me. Meanwhile, they sent me a try version to meet my needs. It's running functional and I am happy with this Web view.

This is a compact unit, much smaller than other PTZ units I have; however, the performance is big. The build is strong (some type of metal alloy) and will withstand the elements for a long time. It comes with all the hardware you will need to complete the installation. You need to provide the SD card with can be as big as 128GB and will record at highest resolution for a couple weeks. Installation with POE is quick, easy, and straight forward. It has two-way audio which make is very useful as an entrance camera. The quality of the audio is good if subject is not too far.I was very anxious to try out the new toy, so I connected to my switch I started the initial operation using my chrome browser and it worked flawlessly. I then integrated into my NVR and as expected perfect. The NVR found the camera quickly and I was up and running in no time. Finally, I downloaded the android app for remote viewing using my phone and after a few minutes of setup I was viewing the camera with my phone.The image and recording are bright, sharp, and colorful. Night vison is par with much more expensive models.I highly recommend this camera. I feel it is best for an entrance or other limited area where you can take full advantage of the two-way audio feature. The zoom is not that large as other PTZ I have so it is perfect for smaller perimeter surveillance.This is a great camera at a great price. If you’re looking to secure your property, particularly in a reception area where you can benefit from two-way audio this is the perfect camera.I have purchase from JideTech in the past and their customer support is unsurpassed. The resposnd to all questions and concerns within hours not days. They even sent me replacement connectors, screw that I have damaged or lost. The value of their customer service alone makes this great camera a fabulous deal.I am so please with their products and customer service I am planning to purchase their model Hi2255-PTZ-NS1-X, 5MP H.265 PTZ POE IP Security Dome Camera with 20X Optical Zoom Pan/Tilt for another part of my property. So first off, let me say I did return this camera and purchased the "Reolink E1 Outdoor WiFi Security Camera, 5MP HD PTZ Camera for Home Security, Auto Tracking, Dual Band 2.4/5GHz WiFi, 3X Optical Zoom, Smart Motion Detection, Color Night Vision, Waterproof" (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09C8735S8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details) in it's place.THE ONLY REASON FOR THE RETURN IS THE SIZE OF THIS CAMERA, and availability of the smaller version that suited my needs. That being said, on to my review (and yes, I did a temporary setup to test it out while looking for something smaller)...A little background, I purchased the JideTech 5MP WiFi PTZ outdoor camera and it's been nothing but "lost signal", I've had to put an Insteon outdoor outlet on it to reboot it every few hours. The ONLY reason I want the camera is to track down Wascally Wabbits and any other critters who dare to attack my backyard garden. I need a good camera that functions at night, and even in the VERY cold (-40ish wind-chills) to track the varmints and see where to put my traps. (and yes, it's fun watching them avoid said traps (sometimes) too!)The Good (I LOVE this camera):- It's EASY to setup.- It is VERY quiet while moving- Picture looks GREAT, zoom, focus, pan... all worked flawlessly- You DO NOT need a plugin to see the camera on a browser! I use Chrome and it's automatically visible, no downloads, no work arounds and enable this or that...- It is 'plug n play' with Synology, pick the model number in the Synology Surveillance system and it did the rest.The "not so good":- Ok, I mentioned that this is large and it is.- For some reason, I do install a MicroSDHC card in them, and it's not easy getting it in this one. You need a small Philips screwdriver and be mindful of where the two screws go.The "Not Tested":- I set this up in my garage (unheated) and let it run for a few days while searching for a smaller camera. While running I did not try any of the tracking functions or patrol type functions. This camera sat pointed at my garage doors the entire time.- I did not use the "Realtime conversation" or spotlight functions as I preferred not to give my wife a heart attack while she was in the garage. Amazon Alexa has that job...If you don't mind the size, this is an awesome camera!

Its implementation is so much easier when a PoE switch is available, as it simplifies the connectivity and powering of the device.
