excellent affordable prime
excellent affordable prime. This is the newest 50mm from Canon and it is an STM lens. The focus is not silent on this lens, it is quiet, but it is audible. It is sharp right at 1.8 and it has a closer focusing distance than the non-STM 50mm 1.8 lens. The 49mm filter size is a little odd. Build quality is great for the price. For a little over $100 you can't go wrong with the lens. If choosing between this and the 40mm 2.8 STM, I would get this one, the 1.8 aperture is a big advantage.Update: I am really enjoying this lens, it has been staying on the camera. This lens seems to perform above its price.

Good filter with accurate markings
I was surprised how accurate the stop markings are. Well built. The rotation is a little stiffer than I would like but is definitely usable. Best filter at this price point but I would think it would be at a slightly lower price. The 49mm filter takes a 52mm lens cap.

Excellent Quality but not for my wide angle lens
The main problem I had with this filter was that it only partially affected a strip in the sky when I was taking landscape pics. Other than that I think this would have been a great CP Filter for lenses maybe as wide as 24mm. I was trying to use it with a 16mm wide angle lens on a full frame camera. The low profile it sits at was also great because it wasn't showing itself on the pictures I took at 16mm. I noticed the filter was also built well. I would definitely consider purchasing this filter again, but only for my 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses.

Excellent Hoya 77mm HMC UV(c) Multi-Coated Glass f
After reading many positive reviews ordered "Hoya 77mm HMC UV(c) Digital Slim Frame Multi-Coated Glass" Filter for my sigma 17-55mm f/2.8 lens. Its made in Philippines. I had also ordered "B+W 62mm Clear UV Haze with Multi-Resistant Coating (010M)" filter for other sigma (18-250mm) lens. B+W definitely felt more heavy/nicer built than this filter even though 77mm filter is larger. B+W cost lot more money :( Again this is simply based on just physical comparison not based on picture quality comparison. With this said, i am happy with this filter.

works great
This filter works great. I have used this filter on a Nikon 18-70mm lens and have produced excellent pictures. I have yet to experience any flare with this polarizer. Great polarizer for a great price.

Great bang for the buck
The most expensive filter is not always the best filter. The German SCHOTT glass and nanocoatings are of great quality, especially a price point well below $100 for a whopper 95mm filter. It's doing a fantastic job on my very expensive Sony lens.

Works as advertised
The 67mm works as advertised. Would give it 5 stars, but the filter is a littler stiff to turn to get the desired affect I am looking for. At times, it is a little difficult to screw the filter onto the lens.
