Does what it is supposed to do.
Works ok for adapting lesser used filters between lenses. A little scratchy threading, but works for my infrequent needs. Very inexpensive alternative, but may end up buying a high end and smoother threading one if using very often for my 5D III and L lenses.

Competes with higher priced tripods!
I ordered this tripod but feared it would not be that good because of the price. I was wrong! It competes with higher priced tripods. This tripod is amazing and I'm so proud of my purchase!

I use this on my bathroom mirror for filming influencer content. Cheaper than gooseneck tripods!

The 3/8"-16 thread fits tripods perfectly
The Manfrotto 186 is a handy adapter, ideal for converting a tripod for light stand use. Simply screw it onto a 3/8"-16 tripod stud and clamp a light head onto the tip. So far I've screwed it onto the 3/8" stud on a Super Clamp and mounted a CFL backlight on it. Also used it on a Manfrotto 190 tripod to hold a five-bulb CFL head and softbox with rock solid results. It’s on the short side but can also be used as a “mini” baby pin if dropped into a 5/8” receiver.Realize the tip is designed to mount standard light stands (Mole Richardson style) and doesn't work with a cold shoe unless you add another adapter on top of it, e.g., Manfrotto Umbrella Mount 026.All in all a handy and well made adapter. I probably should buy another one.
