I have been using the Amcrest 1080p webcam (AWC 195-B) for about a week and absolutely love it.For the last few months I've been working from home and while my company provides me with a laptop, I dock it to 2 monitors at home or in the office. To join video meetings. I always needed to open my laptop, which added a 3rd screen. It was always inconvenient due to my limited desk space. I wanted a camera on top of my home monitor to get the right angle for my meetings.I browsed the web and came across Amcrest's camera. I knew the name because I own several home security cameras from Amcrest. I have been completely satisfied with those, I thought i would give them a chance. I did compare the specs to the other big brands that seem to be popular in webcams, this model seemed to compare in every aspect, with a much better price.When the product arrived, I noticed the USB cable is wired in so you cannot change out the cord should it ever get damaged. The cord provided is (5' 9") long enough to plug into a desktop under your desk and run the wire up to a monitor. It comes with a USB-2.0 connector which was fine for me since my monitor has these ports built in.The camera sat perfectly on top of my monitor and I also like that I can mount to a tripod if ever needed. The removable privacy cover is a great feature. On my first video call, I immediately noticed the better quality compared to the camera built in my laptop. It says fixed focal, but with me just sitting in an office chair in front of the camera, it wasn't a problem. The built in microphone is great. I asked those i was conferencing with how I sounded in a noisy environment and they said the quality was great.My room does not have the best lighting so I tend to come out darker on camera, but the low light quality is still there. I'm looking into purchasing some lighting as recommended by a colleague who uses one on their video conferences. I can be sure to update once I test that out.Overall, this is a great product at a fraction of the price of the competition. I definitely recommend to those looking to dock their laptops and need a webcam to mount on their home monitors. As I recommend this product, I also recommend Amcrests home surveillance cameras as well. You will not be disappointed!
