It's a very good lens for someone looking to buy their first lens! This lens is fixed at 50mm so it doesn't have a zoom on it! But this isn't a big problem!!! I strongly suggest to disable the autofocus and start learning manual focus with this one!But overall, a very good lens that became my go to lens!

What can I say about this lens. It’s simply fantastic value for money! This is a perfect lens for anyone wanting to experiment with bokah without committing too much money. The lens has a toy like feel to it but that’s not to say it won’t last if it is looked after properly. Pictures are most sharp at around 2.8 but quite acceptable across the range. The auto focus isn’t quite as responsive as my usm lens but is better than most.All in all I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with this lens for the value.

Not a bad camera for the price. The biggest fault I found is that it won't focus within 4 feet of the subject so won't work for closeup videos.

I got tired of losing lens caps across the country and bought these tethers. I tried the other type that attached to the camera, but found those don't work if you changed lenses to different sized caps. These should last awhile. The elastic bands are sturdy enough that they won't slip off easily. Just be careful not to put them where it might interfere with either the focus or zoom of the lens. They have 3M tape to secure them on the cap. They should be safe. All and all, I'm satisfied with my purchase.

This ball head for me is overkill. My heaviest camera body / lens combo is about 5 lbs. But I feel much more comfortable knowing this ball head won't let me down.

The first one I got had a slightly auto-focus problem, the camera won't focus on my face but my background. After technical support, I got a replacement in less than 2 days. Was happy about the new one for this price. Good enough for Zoom meetings.

Fantastic lens - great addition for my 6D setup. Couldn't be happier with the bokeh, focus speed, and quick shutter. Motor is more noisy compared to other STM lens', but fantastic lens for the price!

I love this lens!It hasn't come off my camera since day one and I've been shooting everything with it: landscape, macro, stock, chickens, and even food. It's brilliant in low light and has a lovely, crisp image with variable depth of field. It's so tiny and lightweight, I can take my camera out in a shop without anyone calling security.A few things that take getting used to. The auto-focus is a bit slow and it's a lot louder than my kit lens. The vibration is a bit grinding on my hands as it hunts for focus, so I need to find the button that takes it off continual focus and only does it when I half-press the shutter. I find I get the sharpest image if I auto-focus then manual focus to perfection.The other thing I have trouble with is the lack of image stabilization. I thought I was doing really well with my kit lens, being able to get sharp images up to 1/4 of a second, but no. It was the IS. With this lens, I have to be careful at anything less than 1/60th and even then, it's still better if I can use a tripod.Most of these issues are user-problems, so I won't dock the lens any stars. And even still, if I could only ever have one lens, this would be it.
