This is a great piece of kit for the price
This is a great piece of kit for the price. The packaging and storage box are very high quality. The microphone itself has a sturdy construction, the screw assembly for the hot shoe is more than adequate. The sound quality is far better than the on board mic on my Canon 600D and 700D could ever deliver. However, there is an annoying low level hiss. I followed a youtube video, turned the gain down on the camera microphone control settings and the gain up on the microphone.That works to a degree. If you need a microphone for outdoor/indoor events where there will be a lot of background noise. Buy this microphone. If it's for interviews or voice-overs, the hiss is too apparent. I have Adobe CS6 pro and accompanying software can remove the hiss. The software is way too expensive for most amateurs though.
