When the lens arrived I immediately looked to see if there was any imperfection in the glass. There is, it fortunately doesn't mess with my images. The first picture is of the lens imperfection - very subtle. The other photos are taken at 300mm and I think they're sharp. They have been processed in lightroom. The lens isn't light but that doesn't both me. The stabilization is solid for video. Its obviously not a good indoor lens or low light lens. Fantastic lens for capturing nature.

This is a VERY nice camera. The camera starts up instantly and takes the picture I want with no lag. While shooting sports, lag is always an issue, I have detected none.The battery is excellent. I was a little apprehensive over the case being plastic. My old camera was an A2E and it was built like a tank. Then I started thinking how they build planes out of plastic, so that concern was negated (at least in my head, and I was going from a tank to plane) so I bought it. Now I love the light weight of this camera and it's no longer an issue "lugging" it around. If you just want to shoot decent shots keep the 18-55mm lens on it. It's a feather, but this is a starter lens. When you get more money you will at some time want to upgrade it, there should be no rush as it's a very capable lens and it has image stabilization. (Hey, who makes better glass than Canon?)Now for my real only complaint. When I first started using this camera I noticed I was not using the setting I thought I was. When I was shutting off the camera my finger was rubbing against the exposure wheel and it was changing the setting. Since becoming aware if this I have had no more problems with it.You will be very pleased if you purchase this camera.

this camera is freaking awesome.but {notice}:the lens that comes with it is good for starting but very limited depending on the things you are going to be getting into. weddings, sports, etc... you'll need to make sure to be ready to buy the necessary accessories for the camera. because the camera is really amazing and extremely user friendly for those slower than most. but you won't be able to utilize the camera's fullest potential without better lenses. great buy though!!

New lens cap just like the one that came on my lens. Fits as expected.

Great lens. With macro lens, image is gets unbelievably close up and is crystal clear.

Excellent compatibility with my camera (Sony NEX-5). Ordered immediately when I purchased my camera but couldn't find one in town (didn't use the camera until I had this filter in place). Considering cost of camera lenses this UV protection filter is a great investment in protection. Easy to clean between photo shoots. I would buy another Tiffen filter when I purchase a telephoto or wide angle lens.
